Zob Ahan Esfahan Football Club is an Iranian football club based in Fuladshahr, Iran. It competes in the Persian Gulf Pro League. The team is sponsored by the Isfahan Steel Company, which also goes by the name Zob Ahan. The club's main rival is fellow Isfahani team Sepahan, which is also sponsored by the rival steel mill Mobarakeh Steel Company.

The season featured 14 teams from the 2004–05 Iran Pro League and two new teams promoted from the 2004–05 Azadegan League: Shahid Ghandi as champions and Rah Ahan as runner-up. The league started on 2 September 2005 and ended on 21 April 2006. Esteghlal won the Pro League title for the first time in their history.

The 2012–13 Persian Gulf Cup was the 30th season of Iran's Football League and 12th as Iran Pro League since its establishment in 2001. Sepahan were the defending champions. The season featured 15 teams from the 2011–12 Persian Gulf Cup and three new teams promoted from the 2011–12 Azadegan League: Paykan as champions, Aluminium Hormozgan and Gahar Zagros. The league started on 19 July 2012 and ended on 10 May 2013. Esteghlal won the Pro League title for the third time in their history.

The league started on 25 July 2016 and ended on 4 May 2017. Persepolis won the Pro League title for the third time in their history.

The 2016 Iranian Super Cup was the second Iranian Super Cup, held on 19 July 2016 between the 2015–16 Persian Gulf Pro League champions Esteghlal Khuzestan and the 2015–16 Hazfi Cup winners Zob Ahan Esfahan.
