The 2008 Big 12 Conference women's basketball championship, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2008 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship, is the 2008 edition of the Big 12 Conference's championship tournament. The tournament was held at the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri between March 11–13 and on March 15, 2008. Texas A&M University won their first Big 12 Conference women's basketball tournament championship beating Oklahoma State University, 64–59.
Kansas City-based Metro Sports televised the first round of the tournament while Fox Sports Net televised the second, semifinal, and final round of the tournament.

The Big 12 Conference is a college athletic conference headquartered in Irving, Texas. It consists of fourteen full-member universities. It is a member of Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for all sports. Its football teams compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision, the higher of two levels of NCAA Division I football competition. Its 14 members, in the states of Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and West Virginia, include three private universities and 11 public universities. Additionally, the Big 12 has 13 affiliate members — nine for the sport of men's wrestling, one for women's equestrianism, one for women's gymnastics and two for women's rowing. The Big 12 Conference is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Brett Yormark became the new commissioner on August 1, 2022.

It was won by top-seeded Kansas. The all-tournament team consisted of Kansas' Sherron Collins and Cole Aldrich, Kansas State's Jacob Pullen and Denis Clemente, and Texas A&M's Donald Sloan.

The 2013 Phillips 66 Big 12 Men's Basketball Championship was held at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri from March 13 - March 16, 2013. This tournament marked the debut of TCU and West Virginia in the event. First round games were aired on the Big 12 Network, Quarterfinal games were aired on ESPN2 and the Big 12 Network. Semifinal games were available in the conference footprint on the Big 12 Network and outside league markets on ESPNU. All games were carried on WatchESPN, with most also available via ESPN Full Court. The Kansas Jayhawks defeated the Kansas State Wildcats 70-54 in the Championship game, which was televised by ESPN, to receive the Big 12's automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA tournament. All 10 teams qualified for the tournament, with ties broken by using a tiebreaker system.
