The 2008 Mohammed bin Rashid International Football Championship , also known as the 2008 Dubai Cup, is a friendly football tournament that took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The 2008 edition took place from 5 till 7 January 2008.

The World Islands are an archipelago of small artificial islands constructed in the shape of a world map, located in the waters of the Persian Gulf, off the coast of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The World Islands are composed mainly of sand dredged from Dubai's shallow coastal waters, and are one of several artificial island developments in Dubai. The World's developer is Nakheel Properties, and the project was originally conceived by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai. The construction was done by two Dutch specialist companies, Van Oord and Boskalis. The same companies also created the Palm Jumeirah.
E 11 is a highway in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The longest road in the Emirates, it stretches from Al-Silah in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and ends in Ras al-Khaimah emirate, running roughly parallel to UAE's coastline along the Persian Gulf. The road forms the main artery in some emirates' main cities, where it assumes various alternate names —Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Road and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Road in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, and Sheikh Muhammad bin Salem Road in Ras al-Khaimah.

Aselefech Mergia Medessa is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who competes in the marathon. She was a bronze medallist in the event at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics. She is a two-time winner of the Dubai Marathon and has finished in the top three at the Paris and London Marathons. She was retrospectively confirmed as the winner of the 2010 London Marathon after the top two were disqualified. Her personal best of 2:19:31 hours is a former Ethiopian record for the distance and places her within the top ten of all-time.
One Park Avenue or East Park 07 Tower is a supertall skyscraper proposed for construction in Dubai, UAE. The building would stand 600 m (1,969 ft) tall with 125 floors. The tower would be energy efficient, and use green building elements, for example by pumping air from the cooler top floors down to the warmer bottom floors. The 125-story building has a curvy design which contains steel ribbons for solar power generation. At times, the tower can generate more than enough electricity for itself. The excess energy will be sent to other buildings and the rest of Dubai. EP 07 Tower is just one tower out of the proposed East Park/Atrium City Towers development, which will include as many as five buildings with more than 100 floors, including EP 07 Tower.
Sheikha Maitha bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is a karate, taekwondo, polo athlete and Sheikha of Dubai. She was the first woman from UAE to represent the country in the Olympics in 2008.

Dubai International city is a country-themed architecture of residences, businesses, and tourist attractions. Spreading over an area of 800 hectares, the arrangement of the city is inspired by the traditional carpets of Middle East. Once completed, the project will contain studio and one bedroom apartments and accommodate over 60,000 residents. Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is a member of the House of Al Falasi, a branch of the House of Maktoum, the ruling royal family of the Emirate of Dubai. He is the fifth son of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Emir of Dubai.
Shabab Al-Ahli Club is a Emirati professional association football club based in Dubai, that currently plays in the UAE ADNOC Pro League. Al-Ahli is one of the most successful clubs in the UAE.
