The Franz Beckenbauer Cup was an annual friendly association football match named in honour of Franz Beckenbauer. It was organised by Bayern Munich before the beginning of the season, and played between the hosts and a guest team at the Allianz Arena.
Inspiration for the cup came from Bayern's participation in the 2006 Joan Gamper Trophy. [1]
Bayern Munich never won the cup.
In case of a draw after regular time, the winner is immediately decided on penalties. No extra time is played.

Franz Anton Beckenbauer is a German former professional football player and manager. In his playing career he was nicknamed Der Kaiser because of his elegant style, dominance and leadership on the field, and also as his first name "Franz" is reminiscent of the Austrian emperors. He is widely regarded to be one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. A versatile player who started out as a midfielder, Beckenbauer made his name as a central defender. He is often credited as having invented the role of the modern sweeper. With success at club and international level, he is one of nine players to have won the FIFA World Cup, the European Champions Cup and the Ballon d'Or.
Gerhard "Gerd" Müller was a German professional footballer. A striker renowned for his clinical finishing, especially in and around the six-yard box, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest goalscorers in the history of the sport. With success at club and international level, he is one of nine players to have won the FIFA World Cup, the UEFA Champions League and the Ballon d'Or.

Allianz Arena is a football stadium in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, with a 70,000 seating capacity for international matches and 75,000 for domestic matches. Widely known for its exterior of inflated ETFE plastic panels, it is the first stadium in the world with a full colour changing exterior. Located at 25 Werner-Heisenberg-Allee at the northern edge of Munich's Schwabing-Freimann borough on the Fröttmaning Heath, it is the second-largest arena in Germany behind Westfalenstadion in Dortmund.

The FC Bayern Munich Junior Team is the youth academy for German football club FC Bayern Munich. The Junior Team was created in 1902 and restructured in 1995. The Audi Cup is a biennial two-day pre-season friendly football tournament that features four teams, hosted by the German club Bayern Munich, and is staged at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany. It has been held every 2 years since 2009, opposite the FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro, before the start of the Bundesliga season as well.

The second edition of the Audi Cup was a two-day association football tournament that featured four teams. It was played at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany. The competition hosted the defending champions Bayern Munich, the 2010 Copa Libertadores champions Internacional, the 2010–11 UEFA Champions League winners Barcelona and the 2007 FIFA Club World Cup champions Milan. The winners of the tournament were Barcelona, beating Bayern Munich 2–0 in the final. Internacional defeated Milan in the third place match after a penalty shoot-out.
The 2013 Audi Cup was the third edition of the Audi Cup, a two-day association football tournament that featured four teams, and was played at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany. The competition hosted the 2009 Audi Cup winners Bayern Munich, the 2012 Copa Sudamericana champions São Paulo, the 2011–12 Premier League champions Manchester City and perennial Serie A contenders Milan. The English and Brazilian clubs made their first appearances in the competition, while Bayern, as hosts, and Milan have been present in every Audi Cup so far. The winners of the tournament were Bayern Munich, who beat Manchester City 2–1 in the final. Milan defeated São Paulo 1–0 in the third place play-off.
The 2020 DFL-Supercup was the eleventh edition of the German super cup under the name DFL-Supercup, an annual football match contested by the winners of the previous season's Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal competitions. The match was played on 30 September 2020. The match is usually played in July or August prior to the start of the Bundesliga. However, due to postponement of the 2019–20 Bundesliga as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the start of the 2020–21 season was delayed until September 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the match was played behind closed doors.
