These are the highlights of the 2008-2009 Robert Morris Colonials women's ice hockey season.

Regular season

On October 3, 2008, Brianna Delaney scored an unassisted goal against number 3 ranked Minnesota to give the Colonials a 2-0 lead after the first period. The Colonials would go on to upset the Golden Gophers by a 3-2 mark.
On November 1, 2008, Brianna Delaney had the first multi-goal game of her career. She scored two goals (including the game-winning goal) versus the Cornell Big Red, to give RMU a 2-1 win.
November 14–15:Brianna Delaney scored a goal in back-to-back games versus the Niagara Purple Eagles
In a 5-4 win over Maine (on November 29), Delaney had a season-high three assists. Goaltender Daneca Butterfield earned her first win of the season with 27 saves along with a .904 save percentage.^[1]
Versus Sacred Heart, Delaney registered eight points in the two game series (played on February 6 and 7, 2009). Delaney had two goals and two assists in each game.
February 21, the Colonials bested CHA rival Wayne State by a 1-0 mark.

Players

During the 2008-09 season, Delaney skated in all 35 games for the Colonials. She broke the RMU single-season record for points (32) and goals (18). In addition, she tied for first on the team with 14 assists. She was 13th in the NCAA in rookie scoring. She also led the Colonials in shots (113), power play goals (6), and short-handed goals (2). She had eight multi-point games and scored at least one point in 19 games. In the postseason, Delaney scored one goal and one assist in the CHA semifinal versus Wayne State.^[2]

Brianne Alexandra Jenner is a Canadian professional ice hockey player and a member of Canada's national women's hockey team, currently affiliated with the Toronto chapter of the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA). She made her debut for Canada at the 2010 Four Nations Cup and won a gold medal. She was also a member of the Cornell Big Red women's ice hockey program.

Nathan Thomas Longpre is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is currently playing for SønderjyskE Ishockey in the Metal Ligaen. He has previously played in the American Hockey League for the Worcester Sharks, Chicago Wolves, Springfield Falcons and the Peoria Rivermen.

Brianna Decker is an American former professional ice hockey forward who played for the Wisconsin Badgers, Boston Blades, Boston Pride, Calgary Inferno, Professional Women's Hockey Players Association, and United States women's national ice hockey team. She won the 2012 Patty Kazmaier Award while playing for the University of Wisconsin, recognizing the best female ice hockey player in NCAA Division I play. With the Boston Pride, Decker would score the first hat trick in NWHL history on October 25, 2015.

The Mercyhurst Lakers women's hockey team will represent Mercyhurst College in the 2011–12 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Lakers were coached by Michael Sisti and won the regular season College Hockey America championship. During the season, the Lakers only carried 17 skaters, but the club won its 12th consecutive regular season title. In addition, the squad qualified for the NCAA tournament for the eighth consecutive season, an NCAA Division I women's hockey record. The Lakers finished 22-8-3 overall, and were defeated by top-seed Wisconsin, 3-1, in the NCAA quarterfinals.

The 2011–12 Robert Morris Lady Colonials ice hockey season saw the Colonials win the CHA Tournament for the first time in school history. The Lady Colonials participated in the Nutmeg Classic on November 25 and 26. In addition, the Lady Colonials hosted the RMU Showcase on December 30 at the CONSOL Energy Centre versus the Bemidji State Beavers of the WCHA.

The 2011–12 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season began in October, 2011, and ended with the 2012 NCAA Division I Women's Ice Hockey Tournament's championship game in March, 2012.

The 2011–12 College Hockey America women's ice hockey season marked the continuation of the annual tradition of competitive ice hockey among College Hockey America members.

The Robert Morris Colonials women represented Robert Morris University in CHA women's ice hockey, during the 2012-13 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Colonials finished conference play in fourth place. They made it to the semifinal game of the CHA Tournament, where they were narrowly defeated by Mercyhurst.

The Robert Morris Colonials women represented Robert Morris University in CHA women's ice hockey during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Colonials finished conference play in fourth place, and were eliminated in the semifinal of the CHA Tournament by Mercyhurst.

Rebecca Vint is a Canadian-born women's ice hockey player. She played with the Robert Morris Colonials women's ice hockey program and graduated as the program's all-time leading scorer, with 73 goals and 134 points. She most recently played with the NWHL’s Buffalo Beauts in the 2017–18 season. Vint previously played with the CWHL's Brampton Thunder and participated in the 3rd CWHL All-Star Game.

Brittany Howard is a Canadian ice hockey player, currently playing in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) with the Toronto Six. She played college ice hockey with the Robert Morris Colonials women's ice hockey program and was the first Colonial player to win the CHA Player of the Year award.

Kristen Richards is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. She is currently a member of the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA), following four seasons with the Markham Thunder of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL). Prior to that, she played NCAA Division I hockey for Niagara and Robert Morris.

The Robert Morris Colonials women represented Robert Morris University in CHA women's ice hockey during the 2013-14 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Colonials finished conference play in second place, and were eliminated in the first round of the CHA Tournament by RIT.
