The 2008 Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup was the seventh edition of the annual women's volleyball tournament, played by twelve countries from May 30 to June 7, 2008, in Mexicali and Tijuana, Mexico. The intercontinental event served as a qualifier for the 2009 FIVB World Grand Prix in Tokyo, Japan.
Brenda Castillo is a volleyball player from the Dominican Republic and plays as a libero. She was a member of the Dominican Republic national team that won fifth place in the 2012 Summer Olympics, while she was named the tournament's Best Libero. She played in the 2014 World Championship reaching also the fifth place and ranking 17th in the 2010 World Championship and the 2011 FIVB World Cup where her national team ranked eight and the 2015 FIVB World Cup, winning the Best Libero individual award and ranking in seventh place.
Niverka Dharlenis Marte Frica is a volleyball player from the Dominican Republic who currently plays for Indonesian side Jakarta Popsivo Polwan. She played the 2012 Summer Olympics with the Dominican Republic national team ranking in fifth place. She also played the 2010 and the 2014 World Championship earning the 17th place and the fifth place and the 2011 and the 2015 FIVB World Cup with her national team ranking in the eight and seventh place. She won the bronze medal in the 2015 Pan American Games.
The 2007 Asian Youth Girls' Volleyball Championship was held in Kamphaeng Phet, Thailand from 7 to 14 May 2007.
The 2009 Women's NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the 21st edition of the Women's Continental Volleyball Tournament, there eight countries competed from September 22 to September 27, 2009, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. The top finisher qualified for the 2009 FIVB Women's World Grand Champions Cup in Japan.

The women's tournament of volleyball at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico began on 15 October and ended on 20 October 2011, when the Brazil defeated Cuba 3–2 for the gold medal. all games were held at the Pan American Volleyball Complex. The defending champions are Cuba.

The top four NORCECA teams and the top two from CSV confederation, qualified for the 2012 FIVB World Grand Prix.

The 2013 Women's NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the 23rd edition of the Women's Continental Volleyball Tournament. Nine countries competed from September 16 to September 21, 2013, in Omaha, Nebraska, United States. Team USA qualified for the 2013 FIVB Women's World Grand Champions Cup in Japan, after winning the Continental Championship 3–1 to the Dominican Republic. American Kelly Murphy won the MVP Award.
The 2013 FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship was held in Tijuana and Mexicali, Mexico, for seven days from 5 to 12 October 2013. This was the first edition of the tournament. China won the tournament and Yao Di was selected Most Valuable Player.
The volleyball competition at the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games was held in Veracruz, Mexico. The tournament was scheduled to be held from 15 to 30 November at the Córdoba Arena.
The 2015 Women's NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the 24th edition of the tournament, played from 27 September to 2 October 2015 in Michoacan, Mexico. The United States defeated 3–1 to the Dominican Republic to win the Continental Championship and both qualified, along with Puerto Rico and Canada, to the NORCECA Olympic Qualifier while American Nicole Fawcett earned the Most Valuable Player award.
The 2007 FIVB Girls Youth Volleyball World Championship was held in Tijuana / Mexicali, Mexico from 31 July to 11 August 2009. 16 teams participated in the tournament.
The 2010 Girls' Youth NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the seventh edition of the bi-annual Women's Junior NORCECA Volleyball Championship, played by ten countries from July 4–12, 2010 in Tijuana, Mexico. The United States defeated the Dominican Republic and qualified for the 2011 Women's Junior World Championship. The American Jane Croson won the tournament MVP.
The 2022 Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup was the 19th edition of the annual women's volleyball tournament. It was held at the Arena Sonora in Hermosillo, Mexico from 19–29 August, 2022.
