    Robert Lee "Jack" Boone was an American football player and coach; most notably he served as head coach for the college football team of East Carolina College for ten years.

    The 1925 Wake Forest Demon Deacons football team was an American football team that represented Wake Forest University as an independent during the 1925 college football season.     The 1937 Duke Blue Devils football team was an American football team that represented Duke University as a member of the Southern Conference during the 1937 college football season. In its seventh season under head coach Wallace Wade, the team compiled a 7–2–1 record, was ranked No. 20 in the final AP Poll, and outscored opponents by a total of 228 to 56. Woodrow Lipscomb was the team captain. The team played its home games at Duke Stadium in Durham, North Carolina.

    The 1988 NCAA Division II football rankings are from the Associated Press. This is for the 1988 season. The preseason poll and the first two weeks had 10 entries. From the third week onward, the poll was switched to a "Top 20".

    The 2009 NCAA Division II football rankings are from the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). This is for the 2009 season.

    The 2001 NCAA Division II football rankings are from the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). This is for the 2001 season.

    The 1941 North Carolina Tar Heels football team was an American football team that represented the University of North Carolina as a member of the Southern Conference during the 1941 college football season. In their sixth year under head coach Raymond Wolf, the Tar Heels compiled a 3–7 record, finished 11th in the Southern Conference, and were outscored by a total of 172 to 130.

    The 1949 Virginia Cavaliers football team represented the University of Virginia during the 1949 college football season. The Cavaliers were led by fourth-year head coach Art Guepe and played their home games at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, Virginia. They competed as independents. Opening the year with seven straight victories, Virginia climbed to ninth in the AP Poll. They lost their final two games of the year, including to rival North Carolina, to finish 7–2.
