2009 Swedish Church Assembly elections

On September 20, 2009, [1] elections were held for all 251 seats in the General Synod of the Church of Sweden. Since the 1930s, nominating groups have often been directly affiliated with national political parties, but many groups are now established separately from political parties.

The Workers' Party is a democratic socialist political party in Sweden. It was founded in 2010, when almost the entire Västerbotten County section of the Socialist Justice Party (RS) broke off ahead of the 2010 general election. It adopted the name Rättvisepartiet Socialisterna, enhetslista för jobb - mot nedskärningar for its party list. In early 2011, it was renamed the more Workers' Party. It currently holds two seats in the municipal assembly of Umeå. The Workers' Party publishes the New Workers' Journal.
