The 2009 UCI Women's Road World Cup was the 12th edition of the UCI Women's Road World Cup. The calendar contained the same races as the 2008 event with the exception of the Geelong World Cup, meaning that the campaign began instead in Italy.

The Union Cycliste Internationale is the world governing body for sports cycling and oversees international competitive cycling events. The UCI is based in Aigle, Switzerland.
The UCI Women's Road Cycling World Cup was a season-long road bicycle competition for women organized by the Union Cycliste Internationale between 1998 and 2015. This competition consisted of a series of races linked together, not only by a common designation, but also by a yearly overall points competition.
The UCI Road World Cup was a season-long road cycling competition held from 1989 until 2004 and comprising ten one-day events.
Judith Arndt is a retired German professional cyclist, who last rode for the GreenEDGE-AIS cycling team. She won the bronze medal in the 3000 m pursuit event at the 1996 Summer Olympics when she was 20. In 2004, she won the world road race championship and came second in the Olympic road race.
Open de Suède Vårgårda is an elite professional women's road bicycle event held annually in the Vårgårda Municipality of Sweden. Created in 2006, the Open de Suède Vårgårda was part of the UCI Women's Road World Cup until 2015 and sanctioned by the Swedish Cycling Federation. Since 2016, the race has been part of the new UCI Women's World Tour.
Charlotte Becker is a German professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Continental Team Arkéa Pro Cycling Team. She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the women's road race, but finished over the time limit. She also competed on the track in the women's team pursuit for the national team. She signed for Team Hitec Products for the 2015 road cycling season.
Trofeo Alfredo Binda-Comune di Cittiglio is a women's professional road bicycle racing event held annually in the comune (municipality) of Cittiglio and nearby comunes located within the Province of Varese in the region of Lombardy in northern Italy.
The 2012 UCI Women's Road World Cup was the 15th edition of the UCI Women's Road World Cup. The calendar was to retain the same races as the 2011 edition, with the only change being the rescheduling of the Ronde van Drenthe to be the first race, until the GP Ciudad de Valladolid was cancelled for financial reasons. Annemiek van Vleuten was the defending champion.

The UCI Women's World Tour is the premier annual female elite road cycling tour. As of 2024, the tour includes 28 events in Europe, Asia and Oceania – with one-day races such as Strade Bianche Donne and Paris–Roubaix Femmes, and stage races such as Women's Tour Down Under, as well as week long stage races such as Tour de France Femmes.
