The Union Cycliste Internationale is the world governing body for sports cycling and oversees international competitive cycling events. The UCI is based in Aigle, Switzerland.
Marie-Hélène Prémont is a Canadian cross-country mountain biker. She is a 6-time Canadian Champion, represented Canada twice at the Olympics, a Commonwealth Games gold medalist, and from 2004 to 2008 was a regular medal winner on the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup cross country circuit.
The men's individual time trial event at the UCI Road World Championships is the men's world championship for the road bicycle racing discipline of time trial. Introduced in 1994 by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the world's governing body of cycling, the event consists of a time trial covering a distance of approximately 45 kilometres (28 mi) over flat or rolling terrain. Riders start separated by two-minute intervals; the one that completes the course in the shortest time is the winner, and is entitled to wear the rainbow jersey in time trial events for the forthcoming season.
An omnium is a multiple race event in track cycling. Historically the omnium has had a variety of formats. In recent years, road racing has also adopted the term to describe multi-day races that feature the three primary road race events.
The 2011 UCI Road World Championships took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, over 19–25 September 2011. The event consisted of a cycling road race and a time trial for men, women, men under 23, and for the first time since 2004 the junior men and junior women competed at the same event as the elite riders. It was the 78th running of the Road World Championships. Castelfidardo near Loreto in Italy was also a candidate, but Italy held the UCI Road World Championships in Varese in 2008. It was the first time that Denmark has hosted the event since 1956, when it was also held in Copenhagen.
The 2012 UCI Road World Championships took place in the southern part of the Dutch province of Limburg, also known as South Limburg, between September 15 and 23. The event consisted of a road race and a time trial for men, women and men under 23, and team time trials for elite men and women. It was the 79th Road World Championships. Castelfidardo near Loreto in Italy was also a candidate, but Italy had held the UCI Road World Championships in Varese in 2008. The Netherlands had last hosted the Road World Championships in 1998, in Valkenburg aan de Geul, and 2012 was the seventh time that the country hosted the championships.
The 2015 UCI Road World Championships took place in Richmond, Virginia, United States from September 19–27, 2015. It was the 88th Road World Championships. Peter Sagan won the men's road race and Lizzie Armitstead won the women's road race.
Špela Kern is a Slovenian racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Continental Team Massi–Tactic. She competed in the 2013 UCI women's road race in Florence.

Alistair Donohoe is an Australian cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team ARA Pro Racing Sunshine Coast. After suffering a right arm impairment in 2009, Donohoe became a multiple medallist at the UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships and UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships. He won two silver medals at the 2016 Summer Paralympics and a silver and bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Paralympics.
The Women's time trial of the 2015 UCI Road World Championships took place in and around in Richmond, Virginia, United States on September 22, 2015. The course of the race is 29.9 km (18.6 mi) with the start and finish in Richmond. Lisa Brennauer was the defending champion, after winning her first world time trial title in 2014.
Katrine Aalerud is a Norwegian professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam Movistar Team. She rode in the women's road race at the 2016 UCI Road World Championships, finishing in 39th place.
Phetdarin Jaruwan Somrat is a Thai professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Continental Team Thailand Women's Cycling Team. She rode in the women's road race at the 2016 UCI Road World Championships, but she did not finish the race.
The 2019 UCI Road World Championships was the 92nd edition of the UCI Road World Championships, the annual world championships for road bicycle racing. It took place between 22 and 29 September 2019 in the historic county of Yorkshire, United Kingdom, the fourth to be held in the United Kingdom. The championships are traditionally hosted by a single town or city but, while each event in 2019 finished in the North Yorkshire town of Harrogate, the whole historic county of Yorkshire was the official host. Heavy rainfall caused some of the events to be re-routed and delayed.
The Women's road race of the 2017 UCI Road World Championships is a cycling event that took place on 23 September 2017 in Bergen, Norway. It was won by Chantal Blaak of the Netherlands, ahead of Australian Katrin Garfoot and the defending champion, Amalie Dideriksen of Denmark.
The Women's road race of the 2018 UCI Road World Championships was a cycling event that took place on 29 September 2018 in Innsbruck, Austria. It was the 58th edition of the event, for which Dutch rider Chantal Blaak was the defending champion, having won in 2017. 149 riders from 48 nations entered the competition.
The Men's under-23 road race of the 2018 UCI Road World Championships was a cycling event that took place on 28 September 2018 in Innsbruck, Austria. It was the 23rd edition of the event, for which French rider Benoît Cosnefroy was the defending champion, having won in 2017. 178 riders from 52 nations entered the competition.
Anna Louise Henderson is a British racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Continental Team Team Jumbo–Visma. She rode in the women's road race event at the 2018 UCI Road World Championships. In 2018, Henderson won the British National Circuit Race Championships, and the under-23 British National Time Trial Championships in 2019.
Teniel Campbell is a racing cyclist from Trinidad and Tobago, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam Team BikeExchange–Jayco. In 2018, she won four medals at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games. The next year, she won the U23 individual time trial at the Pan American Road and Track Championships. She also won both stages, the general classification, the points classification and the youth classification in the Kreiz Breizh Elites Dames.
The 2021 national road cycling championships were held throughout the year and were organised by the UCI member federations. They began in Qatar with the men's time trial event on 26 January.
