The UCI Road World Championships are the annual world championships for bicycle road racing organized by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The UCI Road World Championships consist of events for road race and individual time trial, and as of 2019 a mixed team relay.
The UCI Track Cycling World Championships are the set of world championship events for the various disciplines and distances in track cycling. They are regulated by the Union Cycliste Internationale. Before 1900, they were administered by the UCI's predecessor, the International Cycling Association (ICA).
The 2000 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships were held in Sint-Michielsgestel, Netherlands on Saturday January 28 and Sunday January 29, 2000. This was the first year that a women's event was held. The track for the race was 2660 meter long with 700 meter road, 1080 meter grass and 880 meter forest trail.

The Netherlands had last hosted the Road World Championships in 1998, in Valkenburg aan de Geul, and 2012 was the seventh time that the country hosted the championships.
The 2014 UCI Road World Championships took place in Ponferrada, Spain, from 21 to 28 September 2014. The cycling championships consisted of 12 events for elite, under-23 and junior cyclists. It was the 81st UCI Road World Championships and the seventh time that Spain had hosted the championships; they were previously held in Lasarte in 1965, Montjuïc in 1973, Barcelona in 1984, Benidorm in 1992, San Sebastián in 1997 and Madrid in 2005.

The 2016 UCI Road World Championships took place in Doha, Qatar, in October 2016. The championships was moved from the traditional September to October to avoid extreme hot and blustery weather. It was the 89th Road World Championships and the first time that Qatar and the Middle East hosted the championships.

The nation's first medal, a bronze, was earned by Gerrit van den Berg in the men's amateur road race. Kees Pellenaars won the first gold medal for the Netherlands in the amateur road race. Theo Middelkamp won the first gold medal in the elite category in 1947.

The 2014 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships is the World Championship for cyclo-cross for the season 2013–14. It took place in Hoogerheide, Netherlands on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 February 2014. Hoogerheide is also the place where the Grand Prix Adri van der Poel is held, up to the 2012–13 season a race in the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup.

Susanne Andersen is a Norwegian professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam Team DSM. At the 2016 UCI Road World Championships in Qatar, Andersen finished 13th in the junior individual time trial. On her way back to the hotel she was hit by a car; despite her injuries she won the bronze medal in the junior road race four days later.

The 2019 UCI Road World Championships was the 92nd edition of the UCI Road World Championships, the annual world championships for road bicycle racing. It took place between 22 and 29 September 2019 in the historic county of Yorkshire, United Kingdom, the fourth to be held in the United Kingdom. The championships are traditionally hosted by a single town or city but, while each event in 2019 finished in the North Yorkshire town of Harrogate, the whole historic county of Yorkshire was the official host. Heavy rainfall caused some of the events to be re-routed and delayed.
