The 2010 CAR Development Trophy , also known as the 2010 African Development Trophy, was the seventh edition of third (former second) level rugby union tournament in Africa. The competition involved ten teams that are divided into two zones North, central and south.

Contents

Two tournaments were held in northern and southern zones. The northern tournament was held in Cairo, Egypt. [1] [2] The southern tournament was held in an away/home legs.

The Ghana national rugby union team represents Ghana in international rugby union. It is organised by Rugby Africa and was also known as the CAR Super 16. The tournament contains the teams in the second division of African rugby, below those playing in the Africa Cup. The competition is divided into north and south sections with two pools of four in each section. The winners of these pools will go on to play each other in the final where the winner of both north and south will be found.

Each zone is then divided into two pools of four. Each pool winner then qualifies for the final, so there is a winner for both north and south.

The 2008 CAR Development Trophy, also known as the 2008 Africa Junior Trophy, was the fifth edition of second level rugby union tournament in Africa. The competition involved thirteen teams that are divided into three zones. In the north there were two pools of three teams. In the 2008 edition Botswana, Swaziland and Nigeria did not participate, due to involvement in the World Cup qualifiers.

The Enterprise Cup is an annual rugby union competition in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, though the competition frequently has the appearance of being an all-Kenyan affair as the majority of rugby clubs in the African Great Lakes region are based in this one country and frequently clubs in Tanzania and Uganda are unable to take part due to financial constraints. The original cup was donated by sailors from HMS Enterprise, who had toured British East Africa in 1928.
