The 2010 Kor Royal Cup was the 75th Kor Royal Cup, an annual football match contested by the winners of the previous season's Thai Premier League and Thai FA Cup competitions. The match was played at Suphachalasai Stadium, Bangkok, on 20 February 2010, and contested by 2009 Thai Premier League champions Muangthong United, and Thai Port as the winners of the 2009 Thai FA Cup.

Summary

First half

Koné Mohamed made the goal with a header from Piyachart Tamaphan's right corner in 14th minute but it was not given because it was foul. In 16th minute Soumahoro Yaya made the goal too but it was offside.

Second half

Koné scored with a header from Piyachart's free kick in 67th minute, this is the first goal of Koné under Muangthong United shirt after moved from Chonburi. In 81st minute Dagno Siaka scored with a header.

The stampede

After Muangthong United scored the second goal, Thai Port's Pongpipat Kamnuan attempted to convince his fans that the last goal came from a handball, which angered Thai Port fans (the Khlong Toei Army).

Thai Port fans agreed with him, and feeling that the second goal should have been disallowed, they started throwing firecrackers and bottles onto the pitch; a pitch invasion then occurred and angry Thai Port fans attacked fleeing Muangthong United fans (the Ultra Muangthong), Muangthong United players, officials and stadium security.

The match was contested by Thai Port, who beat Osotspa Saraburi 2–0 in their semi-final, and BEC Tero Sasana who beat TTM Samut Sakhon 3–0 on penalty shoot-out after 3–3 draw in the match. After Wuttichai Tathong opened the scoring in 14th minute, Edvaldo equalised in the 23rd minute before the draw and Thai Port beat BEC Tero Sasana after a penalty shoot-out.

Kor Royal Cup stampede

The Kor Royal Cup stampede was a human crush that occurred on 20 February 2010 at Suphachalasai Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand during a Kor Royal Cup match between Muangthong United and Thai Port.

The 2010 Thai FA Cup Final was the 15th final of the Thailand's domestic football cup competition, the FA Cup. The final was played at Suphachalasai Stadium in Bangkok on 28 November 2010. The match was contested by Muangthong United, who beat Rajnavy Rayong 1–0 in their semi-final, and Chonburi who beat Royal Thai Army 2–0 in the match. After Therdsak Chaiman opened the scoring in 44th minute, Datsakorn Thonglao equalised in the 59th minute before the draw and Chonburi beat Muangthong United at the extra time 2–1 by Pipob On-Mo.

2012 Thai Premier League is the 16th season of the Thai Premier League since its establishment in 1996. A total of 18 teams are competing in the league.

This match was the last edition of Kor Royal Cup, continued by Thailand Champions Cup in 2017.

The 2016 season is SCG Muangthong United's 8th season in the Thai Premier League since 2009. The club enters the season as the Thai Premier League Champion, and will participate in the Thai League, FA Cup, League Cup, Kor Royal Cup, Toyota Premier Cup and the AFC Champions League.
