The Edmonton Rush are a lacrosse team based in Edmonton playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). The 2011 season was the 6th in franchise history. The Rush finished 5-11, tied with the Colorado Mammoth, but ended up in 5th place due to tiebreakers and finished out of the playoffs for the fifth time in their six seasons.
The Edmonton Rush were a professional lacrosse team in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) that played from 2006 NLL season to 2015.
The National Lacrosse League (NLL) is a men's professional box lacrosse league in North America. Headquartered in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, the NLL currently has thirteen teams: eight in the United States and five in Canada. The NLL ranks third in average attendance for pro indoor sports worldwide, behind only the NHL and NBA. Unlike other box lacrosse leagues which play in the summer, the NLL plays its games in the winter and spring, from December to June. Each year, the playoff teams battle for the National Lacrosse League Cup. The NLL has averaged between 8,900 and 10,700 spectators per game each year since 2004.
The 2011 National Lacrosse League season, the 25th in the history of the NLL, began January 8, 2011, and ended with the Championship game, won by the Toronto Rock 8-7.

Derek Suddons is a professional lacrosse player who most recently played for the New England Black Wolves of the National Lacrosse League and the Brooklin Redmen of Major Series Lacrosse. A member of the 1997 and 1999 Minto Cup winning Whitby Warriors club, Suddons played lacrosse collegiality for the University of Hartford Hawks. He was drafted by the Columbus Landsharks in the first round of the 2001 NLL Entry Draft, and has since enjoyed a lengthy career in the NLL. |
Scott Evans is a lacrosse who most recently played for the Edmonton Rush in the National Lacrosse League. Evans also plays for the Peterborough Lakers of Major Series Lacrosse (MSL) in the summer, and won the Mann Cup with the Lakers in both 2004 and 2006. Zack Greer is a Canadian professional lacrosse player who plays for the Dallas Rattlers in Major League Lacrosse and the Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League. Greer attended high school at All Saints Catholic Secondary School in Whitby, and grew up playing box lacrosse. Greer's brother, Bill, plays for the Toronto Rock in the National Lacrosse League. Greer's cousin Shawn Thornton plays for the Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League. Mike McLellan is an indoor lacrosse player for the Philadelphia Wings in the National Lacrosse League and an outdoor lacrosse player formerly of the Hamilton Nationals of Major League Lacrosse. Nicknamed "The Maestro", he played college lacrosse at Mercyhurst University and was named a two-time NCAA Division II All-American.
Brodie Merrill is a Canadian professional lacrosse player. He currently plays in the National Lacrosse League for the San Diego Seals and Premier Lacrosse League for the Chaos. Jimmy Quinlan is a retired lacrosse player and current assistant coach for the Saskatchewan Rush in the National Lacrosse League and 3 time NLL champion. Kyle Sweeney is an American professional lacrosse player who plays for the New York Lizards in Major League Lacrosse. He is the Vice President of Sports Nutrition at Medifast, and co-founder of the Gotham Lacrosse League. |
