The 2011 Guangzhou International Women's Open was a women's tennis tournament on outdoor hard courts. It was the 8th edition of the Guangzhou International Women's Open, and part of the WTA International tournaments of the 2011 WTA Tour. It took place in Guangzhou, People's Republic of China, from September 19 through September 24, 2011.
Chanelle Scheepers was the defending champion, but lost to Urszula Radwańska in the quarterfinals.
Hsieh Su-wei was the defending champion, but she lost in the quarterfinals to Bethanie Mattek-Sands. Karolína Plíšková defeated Mattek-Sands in the final, 1–6, 7–5, 6–3, to claim her first WTA singles title.
Hsieh Su-wei was the defending champion, but lost in the second round to Zhang Shuai.
Simona Halep defeated Angelique Kerber in the final, 6–2, 6–3 to win the singles tennis title at the 2014 WTA Qatar Open.
Monica Puig was the defending champion, but lost in the first round to Samantha Stosur.

The 2017 Japan Women's Open was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the ninth edition of the Japan Women's Open, and part of the WTA International tournaments of the 2017 WTA Tour. It was held at the Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo, Japan, from September 11 through September 17, 2017.
Caroline Wozniacki was the defending champion and successfully defended her title, defeating Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the final, 6–0, 7–5. This marked Wozniacki's first title of 2017 and snapped a six-match losing streak in tournament finals.
Caroline Garcia defeated Simona Halep in the final, 6–4, 7–6(7–3) to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2017 China Open. As of 2019, Garcia is the only player to win singles titles in both Wuhan and Beijing in the same year.

Kiki Bertens defeated Simona Halep in the final, 2–6, 7–6(8–6), 6–2 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2018 Cincinnati Masters. En route to her first hard court & Premier 5-level title, Bertens defeated the world No. 2 & No. 1 players, in the second round and final, respectively. She became the first Dutchwoman to win the title.
Daria Gavrilova was the defending champion, but lost to Aryna Sabalenka in the second round.
Zarina Diyas was the defending champion, but lost in the quarterfinals to Zhang Shuai.
Bianca Andreescu defeated Angelique Kerber in the final, 6–4, 3–6, 6–4 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2019 Indian Wells Open. It was her first WTA Tour title, and Andreescu became the first wildcard champion in the tournament's history, as well as the youngest champion since Serena Williams in 1999. This marked the second consecutive year where a player won the tournament as her first WTA Tour singles title.
Hsieh Su-wei was the defending champion, but lost to Nao Hibino in the quarterfinals.
Aryna Sabalenka defeated Ashleigh Barty in the final, 6–0, 3–6, 6–4 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2021 Madrid Open. It was her 10th career WTA Tour singles title, and her first on clay.
