Morehead State University (MSU) is a public university in Morehead, Kentucky.
Gary Lee Shirk is a former professional American football tight end. He played with the New York Giants of the National Football League for seven seasons. He also played in the World Football League for the Memphis Southmen and in the United States Football League for the Memphis Showboats. Shirk played college football at Morehead State University.

Kenneth Bernard Faried Lewis is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Zhejiang Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). Known as The Manimal due to his defensive prowess and intimidating dreadlocks, he attended Morehead State University for four years, twice being named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year. He finished his collegiate career as the NCAA all-time leading rebounder in the post-1973 era with 1,673 rebounds. He was selected 22nd overall in the 2011 NBA draft by the Denver Nuggets.
