Crusaders Rugby League was a professional rugby league club based in Bridgend and later in Wrexham, Wales. They played for six seasons in the Rugby Football League competitions, including three years in the Super League from 2009 to 2011.

The North Greenville Crusaders are composed of 16 teams representing North Greenville University in intercollegiate athletics, including men and women's basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, and track & field. Men's sports include baseball and football. Women's sports include volleyball and softball. The Crusaders compete in NCAA Division II and are members of Conference Carolinas.

The North Greenville Crusaders football program is the intercollegiate American football team for North Greenville University located in the U.S. state of South Carolina. The team competes in the NCAA Division II as a Gulf South Conference football team. North Greenville's first football team was fielded in 1994. Wingo played college baseball at the University of South Carolina from 2008 to 2011 for head coach Ray Tanner. He then perused a professional career from 2011 to 2014.

Jamey Chadwell is an American football coach and former player, who serves as the head coach and offensive coordinator at Coastal Carolina; he also served as interim head coach in the 2017 season while permanent head coach Joe Moglia was on a medical leave. He was named Head Coach of CCU on January 18, 2019. Chadwell was previously the head coach at Charleston Southern University for four seasons (2013–2016), North Greenville University for three seasons (2009–2011) and Delta State University for one season (2012). He grew up in Tennessee and attended East Tennessee State University where he played quarterback from 1995 to 1999. He began his coaching career in 2000 at East Tennessee State before taking an assistant position at Charleston Southern University in 2004. He won several coach of the year awards in 2020 after leading his team to a 11-1 record.

The 2014 Victory Bowl was a college football bowl game played on November 22, 2014 at Barron Stadium in Rome, Georgia. It featured the North Greenville Crusaders against the Shorter Hawks. The Crusaders cruised to a 42-16 win. North Greenville and Shorter were NCAA Division II schools, with Shorter playing its first year in Div. II after years in NAIA. Despite a 3-7 record entering the game, Shorter was selected for the bowl due to its high Massey Index rating. Although the teams had the same number of first downs (22) and comparable offensive yardage, the teams combined for several turnovers, including two Hawks fumbles which were recovered in the end zone for touchdowns by the Crusaders.
