The 2012–13 Coppa Italia was contested by four teams. HC Valpellice defeated HC Alleghe to win the cup. The tournament was played over two days, from January 12–13, 2013. The top four teams in the Serie A at the time participated in the cup.

The Coppa Italia is the national ice hockey cup in Italy. It was first played in 1973.

HC Valpellice Bulldogs, nicknamed "La Valpe", is a professional ice hockey team in Torre Pellice, near Turin, Italy. The team plays in the country's top division, Serie A. Serie A is also sponsored by Reebok, which provides free equipment and sportswear to the players. Their current head coach is former NHL goaltender Tom Barrasso.

Hockey Club Junior Milano Vipers was an Italian professional ice hockey team from Milan. Founded in 1998 as Hockey Club Junior Milano, was renamed Vipers in 2000.
In June 2008 the organization was disbanded and replaced with Hockey Milano Rossoblu, a new club that employs much of the same office staff, but does not benefit from the same fundings and operates on a significantly tighter budget.
During their short History, the Vipers won 5 Scudetti, 3 Italy Cups and 3 Italian Super Cups.
