The 2012–13 Croatian Ice Hockey League season was the 22nd season of the Croatian Ice Hockey League, the top level of ice hockey in Croatia. KHL Medveščak Zagreb II won the championship by defeating KHL Mladost Zagreb in the final.

The Croatian Ice Hockey League is the top ice hockey league in Croatia. At the end of the season the Croatian Championship is held. The league is operated by the Croatian Ice Hockey Federation.

KHL Medveščak Zagreb II is a Croatian ice hockey team. It is the farm team of KHL Medveščak Zagreb of the Austrian Hockey League. They play in the Croatian Ice Hockey League and were champions in 2010, 2013, and 2014. They have also played in both the Panonian League and the Slohokej League.

Format

The league began the season with four teams, three from Croatia and HDK Maribor from Slovenia. Maribor pulled-out of the championship after the first round. KHL Sisak joined the championship for the second round, which consisted of six games played each. The three Croatian teams that participated in the first round received bonus points which carried over to the second round. KHL Mladost Zagreb received six points, KHL Medveščak Zagreb II received four points, and KHL Zagreb received two points. KHL Sisak started the second round with zero points. All four teams that participated in the second round qualified for the playoffs.

Hokejsko drsalni klub Maribor, commonly referred to as HDK Maribor or simply Maribor, is an ice hockey club from Maribor, Slovenia. The club was founded in 1993. They play their home games at the Tabor Ice Hall.

KHL Sisak is a Croatian ice hockey team that occasionally plays in the Croatian Ice Hockey Championship. Since the club does not have an indoor arena, its season is very limited. Because of this, and financial reasons, the club doesn't always participate in the national league. For some time the club's name was HK INA Sisak, named after its sponsor, Croatian national oil company INA - Industrija nafte.

Klub Hokeja na Ledu Zagreb, commonly referred to as KHL Zagreb or simply Zagreb, is a Croatian ice hockey team that plays in the Croatian Ice Hockey League and formerly in the Panonian League. The club played in the IIHF European Champions Cup in 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1997 reaching first round.
