The 2007 AIBA World Boxing Championships were held in Chicago, United States from October 23, 2007 to November 3, 2007. It was held at the UIC Pavilion. It was the biggest World Championships in AIBA history.

Juan Gabriel Medina Herrad is a Dominican boxer who competes as a 48 kg light flyweight. He won the bronze medal at the 2010 World Combat Games and the 2011 Pan American Games.
The boxing tournaments at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro took place from 6 to 21 August 2016 at the Pavilion 6 of Riocentro.
The boxing tournaments at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo took place from 24 July to 8 August 2021 at the Ryōgoku Kokugikan. Thirteen events were staged, the same number as in London in 2012 and Rio de Janeiro in 2016. However, for the first time since the London Games, the programme has been updated, with the number of men's events reduced by two and the number of women's events increased by the same number.
Boxing competitions at the 2015 European Games were held from 16 to 27 June 2015 at the Crystal Hall 3 venue in the main Games cluster in Baku. The competition consisted of ten weight events for men, and five for women, and was contested, as at the Olympic Games, under rules and formats set out by the AIBA.
Qualification for the boxing events at the 2016 Summer Olympics is based on the APB and WSB World Rankings, APB and WSB World and Olympic Qualifier, the 2015 World Championships, and the 2016 World Olympic Qualifying Tournament. For the women's events, qualification is based only on the 2016 Women's World Championships. For both men and women, each boxer is selected to compete for the Games through the four Continental Olympic Qualifying Tournaments to be held in 2016.
Kennedy St-Pierre is a Mauritian boxer who represented Mauritius at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, where he competed in the men's heavyweight competition. He is a two time African Games gold medalist and a one time Commonwealth Games silver medalist. St-Pierre has also competed in another Commonwealth Games and an African Boxing Olympic Qualification Tournament.

The competition is under the supervision of the world's governing body for amateur boxing AIBA and is the junior version of the World Amateur Boxing Championships. Boxers aged between 17 and 18 as of 1 January 2013 were eligible to compete.
The 2014 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships were held in Sofia, Bulgaria, from 10 to 25 April 2014. The competition is under the supervision of the world's governing body for amateur boxing AIBA and is the junior version of the World Amateur Boxing Championships. The competition was open to boxers born in 1996 and 1997. This was a qualifying tournament for the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics.
The 2020 African Boxing Olympic Qualification Tournament for the boxing tournament at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan was held in Diamniadio, Senegal from 20 to 29 February 2020.
The 2020 Asia & Oceania Boxing Olympic Qualification Tournament for boxing at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, were held from 3 to 11 March 2020 at the Prince Hamzah Sport Hall in Amman, Jordan.
The 2020 European Boxing Olympic Qualification Tournament for boxing at the 2020 Summer Olympics began on 14 March 2020 at the Copper Box Arena in London. On 16 March, the tournament was suspended and postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was to resume on 22 April 2021 and end on 26 April, but after cases rose in the United Kingdom in January, it was moved from London and further postponed. The tournament later ran from 4 June to 8 June 2021 at Le Grand Dôme in Villebon-sur-Yvette, France. It was expected spectators were not allowed to attend.
The 2018 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships were held in Budapest, Hungary, from 21 to 31 August. The competition is under the supervision of the world's governing body for amateur boxing, AIBA, and is the youth and junior version of the World Amateur Boxing Championships. The competition was open to boxers born in 2000 and 2001. It was the second time in the tournament's history that men and women fought in the same championship.
The 2021 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships were held in Kielce, Poland, from 13 to 23 April 2021.
