The 2012 Big East Conference baseball tournament was held from May 23 to May 27 at Bright House Field in Clearwater, FL. It was an eight-team double elimination tournament. The winner, St. John's, received the league's automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. This marked the Red Storm's seventh tournament championship, the most of any Big East team.

Jack Kaiser Award

Matt Carasiti earned the Jack Kaiser Award for the tournament most outstanding player. Carasiti, a pitcher for St. John's, earned the win in two of the Red Storm's four games, including the championship game. [5]

The St. John's Red Storm is the nickname used for the 17 varsity athletic programs of St. John's University, in the U.S. state of New York. St. John's 17 NCAA Division I teams compete in the Big East Conference, with the exception of the fencing team, which compete in the ECAC. On December 15, 2012, St. John's and the other six Catholic, non-FBS schools announced that they were departing the former Big East for a new conference. The "Catholic 7", after purchasing the "Big East" name from the FBS schools and adding Butler, Creighton, and Xavier, began operating as the new Big East Conference beginning in July 2013.

The 2009 Big East football season was an NCAA football season that was played from September 5, 2009, to January 2, 2010. The Big East Conference consists of 8 football members: Cincinnati, Connecticut, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, South Florida, Syracuse, and West Virginia. Cincinnati won the Big East Championship for the second consecutive year and was invited to the Allstate Sugar Bowl where they lost to Florida 51–24. Overall, the Big East went 4–2 in Bowl Games.

The 2010 NCAA Division I baseball season, play of college baseball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began on February 19, 2010. The season progressed through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and concluded with the 2010 NCAA Division I baseball tournament and 2010 College World Series. The College World Series, which consisted of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA tournament, was held in its annual location of Omaha, Nebraska. It was the final College World Series held at Omaha's Rosenblatt Stadium, which closed following the event. It concluded on June 30, 2010, with the final game of the best of three championship series. South Carolina defeated UCLA two games to none to claim their first championship, which was also South Carolina's first national championship in any men's sport.

The Huskies were a member of the Big East Conference.

The 2011–12 South Florida Bulls men's basketball team represented the University of South Florida Bulls during the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The 2012 St. John's Red Storm baseball team represented St. John's University in the 2012 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Red Storm were coached by seventeenth year head coach Ed Blankmeyer and played their home games at Jack Kaiser Stadium.

Matthew Joseph Carasiti is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Colorado Rockies organization. He was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the sixth round as the 194th pick in the 2012 Major League Baseball draft, and made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut in 2018. He has played in MLB for the Rockies and Seattle Mariners, and in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Tokyo Yakult Swallows.

The event, held at the end of the conference regular season, determined the champion of the Big East Conference for the 2013 season. Eight seeded Connecticut won their third tournament championship to claim the conference's automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

The 2017–18 Big East Conference men's basketball season began with practices in October 2017, followed by the start of the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. This season marked the 39th year in the conference's history, but the fifth as a non-football conference, which officially formed on July 1, 2013. Conference play began in December 2017. For the first time since the reconfigured Big East formed, Villanova failed to win the regular-season title, with Xavier claiming the crown.

The 2019 Big East Conference men's soccer season was the seventh season for the realigned Big East Conference. Including the history of the original Big East Conference, this was the 24th season of men's soccer under the "Big East Conference" name. The regular season began on August 30 and concluded on November 2.

The 2021 Big East Conference women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Big East Conference held from October 31 through November 7, 2021. The five-match tournament took place at Xavier University's Corcoran Field in Cincinnati, Ohio for the Semifinals and Finals, while the Quarterfinals were hosted by the higher seeded team. The six-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the Georgetown Hoyas. They successfully defended their title by defeating St. John's in the final 1-0. This is the fifth title in program history for Georgetown and head coach Dave Nolan. All five of their titles have come in the last six years. As tournament champions, Georgetown earned the Big East's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament.
