The winning team of Heather Smith-Dacey, represented Nova Scotia at the 2012 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Red Deer, Alberta, where they finished with a 4-7 record. [1] [2]

Qualification rounds

Round 1

The first qualification round for the 2012 Nova Scotties Tournament of Hearts took place from December 9 to 11, 2011 at the Wolfville Curling Club in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. The format of play was an open-entry triple knockout qualifying six teams to the provincial playoffs [3]

The 2011 British Columbia Scotties Tournament of Hearts, British Columbia's women's provincial curling championship, was held January 17–23 at the Cloverdale Curling Club in Surrey, British Columbia. The winning team of Kelly Scott represented team British Columbia at the 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Scott's team finishing 7-4 in round robin play, moving into a tiebreaker where they were eliminated playing against Nova Scotia.

The team lost the 3-4 page playoff game against Ontario, but rebounded by winning the Bronze Medal Game against the same team from Ontario.

The 2011 Saskatchewan Scotties Tournament of Hearts was the 2011 Saskatchewan provincial women's curling championship, held January 26–30 at the Jim Kook Recreation Complex in Outlook, Saskatchewan, Canada. The winning team of Amber Holland represented Saskatchewan at the 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Holland's team finished the round robin in first place at 9-2, going onto the 1-2 page playoff game, where they lost to team Canada. The team went on to the Semi-Final game, where they defeated Ontario moving on to the final. The team met Jennifer Jones and Team Canada once again, where in the 10th end of play, score tied, Canada with last rock, would steal the win, becoming the first Saskatchewan Team to win the Scotties since 1997, when Sandra Schmirler won her final Scotties, before dying of cancer. Amber Holland and team with returned to the 2012 Scotties Tournament of Hearts as defending champions Team Canada.

2012 Scotties Tournament of Hearts

The 2012 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the Canadian women's national curling championship, was held from Saturday, February 18 to Sunday, February 26 at the ENMAX Centrium in Red Deer, Alberta. This Tournament of Hearts marked the second time that Red Deer has hosted the Scotties; the first time that the Scotties was hosted in Red Deer was in 2004.

The 2012 Manitoba Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Manitoba's women's provincial curling championship, was held from January 25 to 29 at the Portage Credit Union Centre in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. The winning team of Jennifer Jones, Kaitlyn Lawes, Jill Officer and Dawn Askin represented Manitoba at the 2012 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Red Deer, Alberta, where they finished round robin with a 9-2 record, which was enough to finish 1st place and clinch a spot in the playoffs. Jones would lose both the 1-2 game and the semi-final before winning the bronze medal game over Quebec.
