The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) is a collegiate athletic conference located in the United States. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, the ACC's fifteen member universities compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)'s Division I. ACC football teams compete in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision. The ACC sponsors competition in twenty-seven sports with many of its member institutions held in high regard nationally. Current members of the conference are: Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami, North Carolina, NC State, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.
The Clemson Tigers men's soccer team represent Clemson University in the Atlantic Coast Conference of NCAA Division I soccer. The program has won 3 NCAA national championships, 14 Atlantic Coast Conference championships, and hosted 3 Hermann Trophy winners.
The 2011 ACC Men's Soccer Tournament was the 25th edition of the tournament, which determined the men's college soccer champion of the Atlantic Coast Conference, as well as the conference's automatic berth into the 2011 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship. The tournament began on November 7, with N.C. State defeating Virginia Tech 1–0 in a play-in fixture. The ACC Championship was played on November 13 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina with North Carolina defeating Boston College 3–1 in the final.
The 2012 Atlantic Coast Conference men's soccer tournament will be the 26th edition of the ACC Men's Soccer Tournament. The tournament will decide the Atlantic Coast Conference champion and guaranteed representative into the 2012 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship. The tournament will be held from November 5–11, with the Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds, Maryland being host to the semifinal and championship rounds.

Georgia Tech won their ninth tournament championship to earn the league's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. This is the last of 19 athletic championship events held by the conference in the 2013–14 academic year. With the victory, Georgia Tech tied Clemson for the most tournament championships.

It marked the arrival of the Louisville Cardinals men's soccer program, who joined the ACC from the American Athletic Conference. The Maryland Terrapins men's soccer program, who were both the defending regular season and tournament champions, departed the conference for the Big Ten Conference.
