Elina Svitolina was the defending champion, but she didn't participate in 2011.
Tetiana Luzhanska and Coco Vandeweghe were the defending champions, but Luzhanska chose not to participate. Vandeweghe competed with Mashona Washington, but lost in the first round to Elizabeth Lumpkin and Ioana Raluca Olaru.
Asia Muhammad and Yasmin Schnack were the defending champions, having won the event in 2012. Schnack decided not to participate while Muhammad played alongside Allie Will. They lost, however, in the semifinals.
Simona Halep defeated Jelena Janković in the final, 2–6, 7–5, 6–4 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2015 Indian Wells Masters.
Coco Vandeweghe was the defending champion, but lost in the quarterfinals to Kiki Bertens.
Garbiñe Muguruza and Carla Suárez Navarro were the defending champions, but they chose not to participate this year.
Elina Svitolina defeated Caroline Wozniacki in the final, 6–4, 6–2 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2017 Dubai Tennis Championships.
Caroline Garcia defeated Simona Halep in the final, 6–4, 7–6(7–3) to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2017 China Open. As of 2019, Garcia is the only player to win singles titles in both Wuhan and Beijing in the same year.
Irina-Camelia Begu was the defending champion, but lost to Ons Jabeur in the first round.
Julia Görges was the defending champion, but chose to compete in Luxembourg instead.
Ashleigh Barty defeated Karolína Plíšková in the final, 6–3, 6–7(4–7), 6–3 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships. She became the first Australian to win the title since Evonne Goolagong Cawley in 1980, the first top seed to win the title since Serena Williams in 2016 and the first to do so at any major since Simona Halep at the 2018 French Open. Barty's victory made her the fourth player, following Ann Jones, Martina Hingis and Amélie Mauresmo, to win the women's singles title after previously winning the girls' singles title. She retained the WTA No. 1 singles ranking by reaching the semifinals, with Aryna Sabalenka having also been in contention for the top ranking.
Camila Giorgi defeated Karolína Plíšková in the final, 6–3, 7–5 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2021 Canadian Open. It was her third career WTA Tour title, her first at the WTA 1000 level, and her first since Linz in 2018.
Paula Badosa defeated Victoria Azarenka in the final, 7–6(7–5), 2–6, 7–6(7–2) to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2021 Indian Wells Masters. At three hours and four minutes, the final was the longest women's final contested at Indian Wells. Badosa became the first Spanish woman to win the title. This was her first WTA 1000 title and her second career WTA Tour singles title overall. Azarenka was aiming to become the first woman to win the title three times.
Belinda Bencic defeated Ons Jabeur in the final, 6–1, 5–7, 6–4, to win the singles tennis title at the 2022 Charleston Open. Her victory made her the first Swiss player to win the title since Martina Hingis in 1999 and earned her the distinction of holding titles across all three major surfaces.
Ons Jabeur won the women's singles tennis title at the 2022 German Open after Belinda Bencic retired with an ankle injury from the final with the score at 6–3, 2–1.
Beatriz Haddad Maia won the women's singles title at the 2022 Birmingham Classic, after Zhang Shuai retired from the final with the scoreline at 5–4 due to a neck injury. By winning the title, Haddad Maia extended her winning streak to 10 consecutive matches.
Petra Kvitová defeated the defending champion Jeļena Ostapenko in the final, 6–3, 6–2 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2022 Eastbourne International. Ostapenko was aiming to be the first woman to defend the Eastbourne title since Justine Henin in 2007.
Daria Kasatkina defeated Shelby Rogers in the final, 6–7(2–7), 6–1, 6–2 to win the singles tennis title at the 2022 Silicon Valley Classic. With the win, Kasatkina re-entered the world's Top 10 in rankings for the first time since 2019, reaching a new career high of No. 9.
Caroline Garcia defeated Aryna Sabalenka in the final, 7–6(7–4), 6–4 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2022 WTA Finals. Garcia became the first Frenchwoman to win the season-ending championships since Amélie Mauresmo in 2005.
Petra Kvitová defeated Donna Vekić in the final, 6–2, 7–6(8–6) to win the singles tennis title at the 2023 WTA German Open. Kvitová did not lose a set, and only lost three service games, during the entire tournament. It was her 31st WTA Tour-level title.
