The Lebanese national basketball team is the basketball team of men representing Lebanon in international competitions. Lebanon has been considered one of the top teams in the FIBA Asia sector after coming runners up on three occasions during the 2001 FIBA Asia Championship, the 2005 FIBA Asia Championship and the 2007 FIBA Asia Championship.

The tournament was held from August 1–11 in Metro Manila, Philippines. Beirut, Lebanon was supposed to host the tournament but the hosting rights was given to the Philippines citing the Syrian Civil War and security concerns in the Middle East in general. This was also the last Asian Championships that served as the qualifying round for the FIBA Basketball World Cup, as a qualifying window will be used starting 2019.

The 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification for the FIBA Asia-Oceania region, began in November 2017 and concluded in February 2019. The process determined the seven teams that would join the automatically qualified hosts China at the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
Qualification for the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup was held to determine the sixteen participants in this FIBA Asia Cup.
The 2019 FIBA Under-16 Asian Championship was originally to be the qualifying tournament for FIBA Asia at the 2020 FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup. The tournament would have been held in Beirut, Lebanon from 5 to 12 April 2020. The top four teams would have represented FIBA Asia at the Under-17 Basketball World Cup in Bulgaria. However it was cancelled by FIBA due to the coronavirus pandemic in China. Instead it was determined by FIBA rankings.
The 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification for the FIBA Asia-Oceania region, will begin in November 2021 and will conclude in February 2023.
