The Scottish Rally Championship is a rallying series run throughout Scotland over the course of a year, that comprises seven gravel rallies and one tarmac event. [1] Points are awarded to the top placed drivers and the driver scoring the highest number of points over the season is declared Champion
David Bogie begins the year as defending champion after winning five out of the eight events in 2012.
For season 2013, the championship will be sponsored by ARR Craib Transport Ltd, an Aberdeen based road haulage and logistics company. This is a one-year deal announced in December 2012.
The 2013 season begins in the snow-covered forest tracks around Inverness on 16 February, with the season finale taking place around Perth on 5 October.
Following the Colin McRae Forest Stages Rally in October, David Bogie and his regular co-driver Kevin Rae were declared 2013 Scottish rally champions. This represents a record breaking fifth title in a row for the pair. [2] The award ceremony took place on 30 November 2013 at the Marriott Hotel in Glasgow.
The opening event of the season, the Thistle Snowman Rally was abandoned due to an accident involving a competing car, which left the road and killed a 50-year-old spectator. [3]
On 12 March 2013, series organisers announced that the Galloway Hills Rally – a reserve event when the championship calendar was first announced – would be included as the championship finale. [4]

Points are awarded to the highest placed registered driver on each event as follows: 30, 28, 27, 26, and so on down to 1 point. At the end of the Championship, competitors will nominate their best 6 scores out of the 8 events as their final overall Championship score.
Colin Steele McRae, was a British rally driver from Scotland. He was the 1991 and 1992 British Rally Champion, and in 1995 became the first British driver and the youngest person to win the World Rally Championship Drivers' title.

Kris Meeke is a Northern Irish professional rally driver, best known for competing in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). He was the 2009 Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion. His co-driver is Seb Marshall, also British. He began his career as a Computer Aided Designer with M-Sport, at the headquarters of the Ford World Rally Team, before moving on to competing in the Peugeot Super 106 Cup in 2001.
David Bogie is a British rally driver from Dumfries. He held the title of Scottish Rally Champion for a record breaking five consecutive years from 2009 until 2013. At the end of season 2011, he was both Scottish and British Rally Champion, the first person ever to hold both titles simultaneously.
The 2011 Dulux Trade MSA British Rally Championship was the 53rd season of the British Rally Championship. The addition of the Rally Sunseeker International to the calendar was due to bring the number of events to seven. The season begins on 26 February in Bournemouth and ends on 24 September in Yorkshire. Dulux Trade is once again the sponsor of the series, which is part of a two-year deal agreed in February 2010.
