27 countries/associations entered a team in the event, which is eleven less than 2011. Not all teams took part in all events (for example Switzerland did not enter the youth events).

Anastasia Petrovna Dobromyslova-Martin is a professional darts player. She is a three-time Women's World Professional Darts Champion of the British Darts Organisation (BDO).
Darts World Rankings is a system designed to determine a list of the best darts players in the world based on their performances in tournaments. However, in 1993, a group of former world champions and other high-profile players separated from the British Darts Organisation, meaning there are now two major governing bodies.
The WDF World Cup is a major darts tournament organized by the World Darts Federation and has been held biennially since 1977. The tournament has featured men's events since the beginning, while women's events were added in 1983 and youth events in 1999. The 2019 World Cup was held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Ross Montgomery, nicknamed The Boss, is a Scottish professional darts player who played in World Darts Federation (WDF) tournaments and as of January 14th 2022 now plays on the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). The 2022 WDF Europe Cup Youth was be the 31st edition of the WDF Europe Cup Youth organised by the World Darts Federation. The tournament will be held at the Budapesti Honvéd Sportegyesület in Budapest, Hungary. Due to the cancellation of tournaments in 2020–2021 because the COVID-19 pandemic, it was decided to organize an additional tournament for players under 21 years of age. Medals were distributed in twelve disciplines appropriately for each of the sex and cups and also two boys tournaments for every cups.

Robyn Byrne is an Irish female professional darts player who currently plays in the World Darts Federation (WDF) and Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Her biggest achievement to date was won the Winmau World Masters for girls, won a three gold medals in the WDF Europe Cup Youth and took silver medal in singles competition at the 2018 WDF Europe Cup. She took part in the WDF World Cup and WDF Europe Cup for several times.
