The 2014 ICC East Asia-Pacific Men's Championship was a Twenty20 cricket competition held from 19 to 23 November 2014 in Lismore, Australia. Papua New Guinea emerged as the winner of the tournament and qualified for the 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier. [1] [2]

Papua New Guinea previously had One-Day International (ODI) status, which it gained by finishing fourth in 2014 World Cup Qualifier. Papua New Guinea lost both their ODI and T20I status in March 2018 after losing a playoff match against Nepal during the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, a result that earned ODI and T20I status for their opponents. On 26 April 2019, PNG defeated Oman to secure a top-four finish in the 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two and reclaim their ODI status.

The Samoan national cricket team is the men's team that represents Samoa in international cricket. They became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2000. They competed in the Pacifica Championship in 2001 and 2002, hosting the tournament on the second occasion. They came 6th in 2001, and 5th in 2002. In 2005, they competed in the East Asia/Pacific Cup, finishing in last place, thus missing out on qualification for the 2011 World Cup. Since 2017, they became an associate member.

The Papua New Guinea women's national cricket team, nicknamed the Lewas, represents the country of Papua New Guinea in international women's cricket. The team is organised by Cricket PNG, an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The 2011 ICC EAP Trophy Division 1 was played between 4–7 July 2011 in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. The tournament was a Twenty20 competition with the winner promoted to the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier in the United Arab Emirates.

Charles Jordan Alewa Amini, also known as CJ Amini, is a Papua New Guinea cricketer. He is the son of Kune Amini and brother of Chris Amini, who both have also represented PNG.

Assad Vala is a Papua New Guinea cricketer and the captain of the national side. A left-handed batsman and off spin bowler, he has played for the Papua New Guinea national team since 2005.

Lega Siaka is a Papua New Guinea cricketer, who plays for the national team mainly as a right-handed batsman.

Norman Vanua is a Papua New Guinean cricketer. Vanua made his One Day International debut on 9 November 2014 against Hong Kong in Australia. He made his Twenty20 International debut against Ireland in the 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament on 15 July 2015.

The 2015 EAP Under-19 Cricket Trophy was a cricket tournament held in Blenheim, New Zealand, from 24–28 February 2015. The tournament was the sixth edition of the EAP Under-19 Cricket Trophy, and the first to be held in New Zealand. All matches will be held at Horton Park.

The 2015 ICC Under-19 World Cup Qualifier was an international cricket tournament played in Malaysia from 14 to 22 October 2015, forming part of the 2015–16 international season. The tournament was originally going to be held in Nepal, but was moved to Malaysia due to the April 2015 earthquake. Nepal defeated Ireland in the tournament final to qualify for the 2016 Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh. In January 2016, Australia withdrew their team from the World Cup and Ireland, as runners-up in the qualifier, replaced them.

The 2015 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier was an international women's cricket tournament held in Thailand from 28 November to 5 December 2015. It was the second edition of the Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier.

Chad Soper is a Papua New Guinean cricketer. Born in Port Moresby to a Papua New Guinean mother and a New Zealand father, Soper grew up on the New South Wales Central Coast.

Nosaina Pokana is a Papua New Guinean cricketer. He made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut on 6 February 2016 against Ireland in Australia. He made his List A debut in the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship on 30 May 2016 against Kenya. His One Day International (ODI) debut, on 31 March 2017, was against the United Arab Emirates in the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship. His first-class debut, on 7 April 2017, was also against the United Arab Emirates, in the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup.

The 2018–19 ICC T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific Qualifier was the tournament played in Fiji and Philippines as part of qualification process for the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup.

The 2019 ICC Women's Qualifier EAP was a cricket tournament that was held in Vanuatu in May 2019. The matches in the tournament were played as Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is), with the top team progressing to both the 2019 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier and the 2021 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournaments.
