The 2014 Kagame Interclub Cup was the 39th edition of the Kagame Interclub Cup, which is organised by CECAFA. It is taking place in Kigali, Rwanda from 8–24 August. [1] [2] Rwanda is hosting the tournament for the fourth time since its inception in 1974.
All times shown are in Central Africa Time (UTC+2).
South African sports channel SuperSport secured official rights to broadcast all matches played at the tournament. [3]
On 11 July 2014, the draw for clubs to participate in the tournament was released at the Amahoro Stadium, one of the two host venues. [3] [4] Rwandan President Paul Kagame, the sponsor of the tournament, committed a total of US$60,000 for prize money, while an additional US$15,000 was committed to the organisation of the event. [5] Yanga was scheduled as the Tanzanian representative but was removed by CECAFA because the club decided to field a second string side in the tournament which is against the tournament regulation and were replaced by Azam. [6] Just like the reigning Burundi champion Flambeau de l'Est who was replaced by Atlético Olympic and the Ethiopian side Ethiopian Coffee who was replaced by Adama City. [7]

The group stage featured fourteen teams, with 5 teams in Group A and B and 4 team in Group C. Three teams from Group A and B and two teams from Group C advanced to the knockout stage.

The 2011 CECAFA Cup was an international football competition consisting of East and Central African national teams. It was the 35th edition of the annual CECAFA Cup. The tournament was hosted by Tanzania for the second consecutive year and seventh time overall.
The 2012 Kagame Interclub Cup was the 37th edition of the Kagame Interclub Cup, which is organised by CECAFA. It began on 14 July and ended on 28 July 2012. Tanzania hosted the tournament for their eleventh time since it officially began in 1974, when they were also hosts. The tournament made Wau Salaam the first South Sudanese club to take part in an international club tournament.
The group stage of the 2012 CECAFA Cup began on 24 November 2012 and ended on 1 December 2012. The matchdays were 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 November and 1 December.
The qualifying rounds of the 2013 CAF Confederation Cup were played from 16 February to 2 June 2013, to decide the eight teams which advanced to the group stage.
The group stage of the 2013 CECAFA Cup began on 27 November and ended on 5 December. The matchdays were 27–29 November, 30 November–2 December and 3–5 December.

The 2016 African Nations Championship was the 4th edition of the African Nations Championship, the biennial international football championship organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the men's national teams of Africa featuring exclusively players from their respective national leagues. The tournament was held in Rwanda between 16 January and 7 February 2016. A total of 16 teams played in the tournament.
