The 2014 NBL Canada Draft was held on August 24, 2014, at the Athlete Institute in Orangeville, Ontario. [1] [2] A total of 24 players were selected in three rounds. [1] [2] Jordan Weidner was selected by the Mississauga Power with the first overall pick. [3]

Brad Newley is an Australian professional basketball player for the Frankston Blues of the NBL1 South. After starting his career in Australia, playing for the Australian Institute of Sport and the Townsville Crocodiles, Newley was drafted 54th overall by the Houston Rockets in the 2007 NBA draft. The league changed in size multiple times and had four active teams in its final season, all in Ontario, but historically the NBLC had several located in the Atlantic provinces. The league's season typically ran from November to April of the following year. The final league champions were the London Lightning, who defeated the Windsor Express 3–2 in the 2023 NBL Finals.

The Mississauga Power were a Canadian professional basketball team based in Mississauga, Ontario, that competed in the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL). Established in 2011 as the Oshawa Power, they played in the Central Division. The Oshawa team began play in the inaugural NBL Canada season, along with the London Lightning, Moncton Miracles, and Summerside Storm and three Premier Basketball League (PBL) teams.

The 2011–12 NBL Canada season was the inaugural season of the National Basketball League of Canada.

The 2012 NBL Canada Draft was held on August 27, 2012, at the Rogers Centre. A total of 24 players were selected, in three rounds. Robert Curtis was selected with the first overall pick by the Windsor Express, to be traded to the Saint John Mill Rats, for fifth pick Mike Helms and the rights of Isaac Kuon.

Stefan Bonneau is an American former professional basketball player. Born in Middletown, Orange County, New York, Bonneau played high school basketball for Middletown. He then played for the SUNY Orange Colts of the NJCAA. After graduating, he enrolled in LIU Post to play for the Pioneers in NCAA Division II. In both his seasons with the Pioneers, Bonneau won the East Coast Conference (ECC) championships and was named All-ECC Player of the Year.

The NBL Canada draft is an annual event in which each team from the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL) can draft players who are eligible and wish to join the league. Most of these players previously played college basketball in U Sports or the NCAA. Before becoming eligible, the players must participate in a pre-draft combine, and the list of players that will attend the draft is officially decided.

Adrian Moss is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Windsor Express of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL). Born in Centralia, Illinois, he played high school basketball for Franklin Community High School. Following his graduation, he committed to IUPUI to play college basketball. After his sophomore season at IUPUI he transferred to the University of Indianapolis, where he played for two more seasons.

The 2013 NBL Canada Draft was held on August 19, 2013, at Hilton Suites Conference Centre & Spa in Markham, Ontario. A total of 29 players were selected, in three rounds. Alex Johnson was selected with the first overall pick by the Ottawa SkyHawks, becoming the first Canadian to be the top pick in the NBL Canada Draft. Johnson did not appear for the SkyHawks, as he was traded to the Mississauga Power for Bol Kong.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2015 NBL Canada draft</span>

The 2015 NBL Canada draft was held on November 28, 2015, at the Athlete Institute in Mono, Ontario. During the event, National Basketball League of Canada (NBL) teams took turns selecting amateur college basketball players. The new expansion team, the Niagara River Lions, were awarded the first overall pick and selected Erik Copes, a power forward from George Mason in the NCAA Division I. The eighth overall pick in the draft was defunct, due to the folding of the Mississauga Power team during the offseason. Both the River Lions and the Halifax Hurricanes made their first draft picks in franchise history. Matt McLean, out of Bishop's University, was the sole Canadian to be selected. The rest of the field was made up of Americans.
