The 2014–15 BIC Basket (37th edition), Angola's top tier basketball club competition, ran from November 20, 2014 through June 16, 2015. It consisted of four stages plus the playoffs. At the initial stage (regular season) all ten teams played each other in a double round robin system. In stage 2 (group stage 1), the first six teams from the regular season played in a single round robin in each group. In stage 3 (group stage 2), the first five teams from group stage 1 played in a round robin in group A whereas the four teams in group B plus the relegated team from group A played round robin classification matches in group B. In stage 4 (semifinals), the first-seeded team played a best-of-five series with the fourth-seeded team whereas the 2nd-seeded team played the third-seeded team with the winners playing a best-of-seven series of matches for the title and the losers playing a best-of-three series for third place. The 5th-seeded team from group A joined group B to play the group's 3rd-seeded team also in a best-of-five series whereas 1st-seeded plays 2nd seeded. Winners of those group B matches played a best-of-seven series for seventh place, the losers played a best-of-three for ninth place whereas the last two teams in group B will be relegated to the 2nd division championship.

Clube Desportivo Primeiro de Agosto is an Angolan men's basketball team based in Luanda. The team is part of the multi-sports club with the same name. The club is attached to the Angolan Armed Forces which is its main sponsor. The team competes at the local level at the Luanda Provincial Basketball Championship and at the BIC Basket. In the past, it has played in the Africa Basketball League competitions.
Atlético Petróleos de Luanda, commonly known as Petro de Luanda, is an Angolan basketball club based in Luanda. It competes at the local level, at the Luanda Provincial Basketball Championship and at the Angola National Basketball Championship. Additionally, the club plays at the continental level, at the Basketball Africa League (BAL), which they have won in 2024.
Sport Libolo e Benfica or simply Benfica do Libolo, was an Angolan basketball club based in Libolo, Kwanza Sul province. The club's men's basketball team competed in the Angolan Basketball League as well as at continental level, at the annual African Basketball Club Champions League competitions. In its 76 years of existence, the club won the Angolan League three times, the Angolan Cup five times and the FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup once, in 2014.
The Angolan Men's Basketball League,, for sponsorship reasons known as the Unitel Basket, is the top tier men’s basketball league in Angola.

The Taça de Angola is an annual basketball competition in which all Angolan basketball clubs are eligible to contest. The tournament, played in a knock-out system, is Angola's second most important basketball competition following the national league.

The Taça Victorino Cunha is an annual basketball tournament contested by Angolan basketball teams. The tournament was established in 2009, in honour of former Angolan basketball coach Victorino Cunha.
The 2012–13 Angola men's basketball cup was contested by 13 teams and ran from February 3 to April 19, 2013, whereas the four-team women's tournament ran from January 22 to February 2.
The 2015 Angola Basketball Super Cup was contested by Recreativo do Libolo, as the 2014 league champion and Petro Atlético, the 2014 cup winner. Petro Atlético won its 6th title.
The Angola basketball cup is the second most important nationwide annual basketball competition in Angola. The final stage of the 2015 edition for men (quarterfinals) ran from March 10 to April 10, 2015 and was contested by eight teams in a two-leg knock out competition system, followed by a two-leg semifinal. The final was played in a single match. Recreativo do Libolo was the winner by beating Primeiro de Agosto 79-70 in the final.

The 2015 FIBA Africa Basketball Club Championship, was an international basketball tournament held in Luanda, Angola from December 10 to 19, 2015. The tournament, organized by FIBA Africa and hosted by Clube Desportivo Primeiro de Agosto was contested by 11 clubs split into 2 groups of six and five, the top four of each group qualifying for the knock-out stage, quarter, semi-finals and final.

At the initial stage all nine teams played each other in a double round robin system. In stage 2, the top five teams from the regular season played in a single round robin in each group. In stage 3, the top five teams from group stage 1 played in a round robin in group A whereas the four teams in group B plus the relegated team from group A played round robin classification matches in group B. In stage 4 (playoffs), a best-of-five series will be played between first-seeded vs eighth-seeded, 4th vs 5th, 2nd vs 7th and 3rd vs 6th. The winners of the first and second match-up and of the third and fourth will play a best-of-five semifinal playoff whereas the losers will play a best-of-three 5th-8th classification round. The final will be played in a best-of-seven series.
