The 2015 Campeonato Amazonense de Futebol was the 99th edition of Amazonas's top professional football league. The competition began on 21 February and ended on 20 June. Nacional won the championship by the 43rd time. [1]
In the first stage all participating teams play each other. The first four teams placed at the end of this first stage will be classified for the semifinals.
In the semifinals, the first place will face the fourth while the second place will face the third. They will be played two games, and both the first and second place will have the advantage of getting two results equal to advance to the final.
In the final two games will be played, and the team from the two involved in the dispute, with the best record in the first stage, will have the advantage of getting two results equal to be the champion.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup was the 20th FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men's national football teams organised by FIFA. It took place in Brazil from 12 June to 13 July 2014, after the country was awarded the hosting rights in 2007. It was the second time that Brazil staged the competition, the first being in 1950, and the fifth time that it was held in South America. Many fans and pundits alike also consider this edition of the World Cup to be one of the greatest ever held.

Group E of the women's football tournament at the 2016 Summer Olympics was played from 3 to 9 August 2016, and included hosts Brazil, China, South Africa and Sweden. The top two teams advanced to the knockout stage, while the third-placed team also advanced if they were among the two best third-placed teams among all three groups.
The 2017 Copa do Brasil First Round was played from 8 February to 16 February 2017, deciding the 40 teams that advanced to the Second Round. In this year, this round was decided in a single match. The lower ranked team hosted the match and, in tie cases, the higher ranked team advanced to next round.
The 2017 Campeonato Amazonense is the 101st season of Amazonas' top football league. Nacional-AM and Rio Negro-AM were deducted 20 and 7 points, respectively, but this was later overruled. Manaus won for the first time after defeating Nacional-AM 2-1 on aggregate.
