The 2015 FIBA Africa Under-16 Championship for Women was the 4th FIBA Africa U16 Championship for Women, played under the rules of FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, and the FIBA Africa thereof. The tournament was hosted by Madagascar from July 11 to 19, with the games played at the Palais des Sports Mahamasina in Antananarivo.

Contents

Mali defeated Nigeria – in the final to win their fourth title in a row. [1] and securing a spot at the 2016 U-17 World Cup.

Antananarivo, also known by its colonial shorthand form Tana, is the capital and largest city of Madagascar. The administrative area of the city, known as Antananarivo-Renivohitra, is the capital of Analamanga region. The tournament was hosted by Senegal from September 20 to 30, with the games played at the Marius Ndiaye Stadium in Dakar and at the Stade Maniang Soumaré in Thiès.

Rugby union in Madagascar is the most popular team sport in the nation. As of August 2023, Madagascar is ranked 45th worldwide by World Rugby (WR), and boasts over 42,540 registered players and more than 410 rugby clubs. The 2009 FIBA Africa Championship for Women is the 19th continental championships held by FIBA Africa. The championship will serve as a qualifying tournament for the 2010 FIBA World Championship for Women in the Czech Republic. The tournament took place at the Palais des Sports, Antananarivo, Madagascar from October 9 to October 18. Senegal defeated Mali in the final to capture its tenth FIBA Africa Championship for Women. Both teams qualified for the 2010 FIBA World Championship for Women.

The Burkina Faso national basketball team is the national basketball team of Burkina Faso, governed by the Fédération Burkinabe de Basketball.

The 2013 FIBA Africa Under-16 Championship for Men was the 3rd U-16 FIBA Africa championship, organized by FIBA Africa and played under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Basketball, the basketball sport governing body and qualified for the 2014 FIBA Under-17 World Championship. The tournament was held from June 28 to July 7 in Antananarivo, Madagascar, contested by 9 national teams and won by Angola.

The FIBA U16 Women's African Championship is an under-16 basketball championship in the International Basketball Federation's FIBA Africa zone. The tournament is held biennially. The top two teams qualify directly to the FIBA Under-17 Women's World Cup.

The 2011 FIBA Africa Under-16 Championship for Women was the 2nd U-16 FIBA Africa championship, played under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Basketball, the basketball sport governing body and qualified for the 2012 World Cup. The tournament was held from July 22–30 in Alexandria, Egypt, contested by 6 national teams and won by Mali.

The 2009 FIBA Africa Under-16 Championship for Women was the 1st U-16 FIBA Africa championship for women, played under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Basketball, the basketball sport governing body and qualified for the 2010 World Cup. The tournament was held from August 30–September 5 in Bamako, Mali, contested by 8 national teams and won by Mali.

The 2014 FIBA Africa Under-18 Championship was the 19th FIBA U18 African Championship, played under the rules of FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, and the FIBA Africa thereof. The tournament was hosted by Madagascar from August 2 to 10, with the games played at the Palais des Sports Mahamasina in Antananarivo.

The 2014 FIBA Africa Under-18 Championship for Women was the 13th U-18 FIBA Africa championship, played under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Basketball, the world basketball sport governing body. The tournament was held from September 19–28 in Cairo, Egypt, contested by 8 national teams and won by Mali.

The 2015 African Games women's football tournament qualification decided the participating teams of the 2015 African Games women's football tournament. A total of eight teams qualified to play in the women's football tournament, including Congo who qualified automatically as hosts. Both the qualifying rounds and the final tournament were open to full women's national teams.

The 2015 FIBA Africa Under-16 Championship for Men was the 4th U-16 FIBA Africa championship, organized by FIBA Africa and played under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Basketball, the basketball sport governing body and qualified for the 2016 FIBA Under-17 World Championship. The tournament was held from July 30 to August 8 at the Palais des sports à l’ACI 2000 in Bamako, Mali, contested by 11 national teams and won by Egypt.
