The 2015 Korean Series was the championship series of the 2015 KBO League season. The Samsung Lions, four-time consecutive defending champions, played the winner of the playoff series, the Doosan Bears. [1] The Doosan Bears defeated the regular season champions, the Samsung Lions in five games to win their fourth Korean Series championship.

Their home stadium is Daegu Samsung Lions Park. They have won the Korean Championship eight times, and also finished as runners-up on eleven occasions. The Samsung Lions are the first team to win four consecutive Korean Series titles (2011–2014), and are also the first team to win the regular season league title for five consecutive years (2011–2015).

The Kia Tigers are a South Korean professional baseball team founded in 1982 and based in the southwestern city of Gwangju. Until 2001, they were known as the Haitai Tigers. The Tigers are members of the KBO League and are the most successful team in Korean baseball, having won the Korean Series championship twelve times with a perfect 12–0 record. Their home stadium is Gwangju-Kia Champions Field in Gwangju.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Lee Seung-yuop</span> South Korean baseball player (born 1976)

Lee Seung-yuop is a retired baseball player and the current manager of the Doosan Bears. He spent most of his career with the Samsung Lions of the KBO League. At the age of 26, he became the youngest professional baseball player in the world to hit 300 career home runs. He formerly held the Asian home run record of 56 homers in a season, established in 2003 while playing for Samsung in the KBO. Lee holds the KBO records for career runs scored, RBI, total bases, and slugging percentage. Combined, across the KBO and NPB, Lee has also recorded more hits than any other native-born South Korean player. Since the 2022 KBO season as the manager of the Doosan Bears, Lee has two playoff appearances. In 2022, Lee lead the Bears to their first wild card game under his reign against the NC Dinos where they were eliminated from playoff contention after losing their first game. Lee then continued to the playoffs in 2024 where he lost against the KT Wiz that ended their season.

The Korean Series is the final championship series of the KBO League. It has been held since the KBO League's first season in 1982 and is the final series of the post-season play-offs. From 2005 to 2013, the winner of the Korean Series went on to play in the Asia Series.

Chae Sang-byung is a former South Korean catcher who played for the Hanwha Eagles, Doosan Bears, and Samsung Lions in the Korea Baseball Organization.

Kim Kyung-moon is the manager of the Hanwha Eagles, and a former catcher in the Korea Baseball Organization.

KBO Futures League or Korea Baseball Futures League is South Korea's second level of baseball, below the KBO League. It serves as a farm league with the purpose to develop professional players on-demand to play in the KBO League. The league consists of two divisions — the Southern League and the Northern League. These leagues are governed by the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO). The league plays an 80-game season.

Byungho Park is a South Korean professional baseball designated hitter and first baseman for the Samsung Lions of the KBO League. He previously played for the LG Twins, Kiwoom Heroes, and KT Wiz, and Minnesota Twins of Major League Baseball (MLB). In the KBO, Park had two consecutive seasons with 50 home runs (2014–2015) and was the home run title winner for four consecutive seasons (2012–2015). He holds the KBO record for runs batted in during a single season, with 146 RBI in 2015.

Shim Jeong-soo is a former South Korean professional baseball outfielder who played for the Doosan Bears, the Hyundai Unicorns, and the Samsung Lions of the KBO League. A power hitter, Shim's teams won the Korean Series five teams — once with the Bears, twice with the Unicorns, and twice with the Lions. In fact, Shim's teams won four consecutive KBO championships from 2003 to 2006.

The 2016 Korean Series was the championship series of the 2016 KBO League season. The Doosan Bears, as the regular season champions, automatically advanced to the Korean Series. They played against the winner of the playoff series, the NC Dinos, who defeated the LG Twins.
