The 2015 Sindh local government elections were held in the province of Sindh, Pakistan, on 26 May 2015. The elections were held for the first time in 12 years and were the first to be held under the Local Government Act 2013. [1] [2]
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) won the most seats in the elections, followed by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI). The MQM won 1,117 seats, the PPP won 900 seats, and the JI won 287 seats.
The last local government elections in Sindh were held in 2001. The elections were won by the PPP, which formed the government in the province. The MQM was the main opposition party.
In 2013, the PPP government passed the Local Government Act 2013. The act was designed to devolve power to the local level and to improve governance in Sindh. [3]

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), previously known as Muhajir Qaumi Movement, is a secular political party in Pakistan that was founded by Altaf Hussain in 1984. Currently the party is split between two main factions. MQM-London faction is controlled by Altaf Hussain from London, while MQM-Pakistan is run by Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui based in Pakistan. Its electoral symbol was a kite.

This constituency from 2002-2018 was demarcated as PS-113 Karachi-XXV, from 2018-2023 the Election Commission of Pakistan labelled this area as PS-111 Karachi South-V and after 2023 this constituency is presently PS-110 Karachi South-V.
Muhammad Muzammil Qureshi is a Pakistani politician who had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, from June 2013 to May 2018. Previously he had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from 2008 to 2013.

The 2023 Karachi local government elections were held in Karachi, Pakistan on 15 January 2023 to elect members of local councils. These members would then elect the Mayor of Karachi (2023-2027). These elections were the 3rd Karachi local government elections.
NA-242 Karachi Keamari-I is a constituency for the National Assembly of Pakistan that encompasses Baldia.
Provincial elections were held in Sindh on 8 February 2024 to elect a new provincial legislature. On 5 August 2023, after the approval of the results of the 2023 digital census by the Council of Common Interests headed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, elections have been delayed for several months, as new delimitations will be published on 14 December 2023. On 2 November 2023, the Election Commission of Pakistan announced, in agreement with the President of Pakistan, Arif Alvi, that the elections should be held on 8 February 2024. This election was held concurrently with nationwide general elections and other provincial elections.
