The 2015–16 Ohio Bobcats women's basketball team represented Ohio University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Bobcats, led by third year head coach Bob Boldon, played its home games at the Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio as a member of the Mid-American Conference. [1] [2] They finished the season 26–7, 16–2 in MAC play by winning the East Division title as well as the overall regular season MAC championship. They lost in the quarterfinals of the MAC women's tournament to Buffalo. They received an automatic bid to the Women's National Invitation Tournament where they lost in the third round to Temple.

The preseason coaches' poll and league awards were announced by the league office on October 27, 2015. Ohio was unanimously picked to win the MAC East [3]

As the No. 10 seed in the MAC tournament, they were defeated in the first round by Northern Illinois.

In a season limited due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, they finished the season 17–8, 9–5 in MAC play to finish in fifth place. As the No. 5 seed in the MAC tournament, they defeated Kent State, Toledo, and Buffalo to win the tournament championship. A a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 13 seed in the West region. There they upset No. 4-seeded Virginia in the First Round before falling to No. 5-seeded Creighton in the Second Round.

The Bobcats finished non-conference play at 6–3. During a conference win at Central Michigan on January 15, Cece Hooks passed Caroline Mast as the leading scorer in Ohio basketball history. Two games later, against Bowling Green, she passed Toldeo’s Kim Knuth as the leading scorer in MAC basketball history. They finished the regular season 15–13 and 9–10 in the MAC. They were knocked out of the MAC tournament in the quarterfinals by top-seeded Toledo and in the first round of the WNIT by eventual champion South Dakota State.
