It was the 23rd edition, for men, and 12th edition, for women, of the tournament and part of the 2016 ATP Challenger Tour and the 2016 ITF Women's Circuit, offering totals of €42,500, for men, and $50,000, for women, in prize money. It took place in Prague, Czech Republic, on 25–31 July 2016.

Facundo Argüello and Nicolás Kicker were the defending champions but only Argüello chose to defend his title, partnering Gonzalo Escobar. Argüello withdrew in the qualifying competition.

Fabrício Neis and Caio Zampieri were the defending champions but chose to defend their title with different partners. Neis partnered Guillermo Durán but lost in the semifinals to Ken and Neal Skupski. Zampieri partnered Sergio Galdós but lost in the first round to Julian Ocleppo and Andrea Pellegrino.
