The 2016 FIBA U18 Women's European Championship was an international basketball competition held in Sopron, Hungary, from 23 to 31 July 2016. It was the 33rd edition of the championship, and the FIBA Europe qualifying tournament for the 2017 FIBA Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup. 16 national teams from across Europe, composed of women aged 18 and under, competed in the tournament. The first-round groups draw took place on 22 January 2016 in Munich, Germany. [2]

The 2015 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship for Women was the 32nd edition of the European Under-18 Women's Basketball Championship. 16 teams participated in the competition, held in Celje, Slovenia, from 30 July to 9 August 2015.
The 2016 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship Division I and 2016 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship Division I Qualification were a pair of international under-18 women's ice hockey tournaments run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Division I and Division I Qualification tournaments made up the second and third level of competition at the 2016 IIHF World Women's U18 Championships respectively. The Division I tournament took place between 10 January and 16 January 2016 in Miskolc, Hungary. The tournament was won by Japan who gained promotion back to the Championship Division for 2017 while Denmark finished last and was placed in the newly formed Division I Group B tournament for 2017. The Division I Qualification tournament took place from 7 January to 11 January 2016 in Spittal an der Drau and Radenthein, Austria. Austria won the tournament defeating Italy in the final and gained promotion to Division I Group A for 2017. Italy, Kazakhstan, Great Britain, China and Poland were promoted to Division I Group B after finishing second through to sixth in the Division I Qualification tournament.
The 2016 FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship for Women was an international basketball competition that took place in Valdivia, Chile from July 13–17, 2016. It was the eleventh edition of the championship, and was the FIBA Americas qualifying tournament for the 2017 FIBA Under-19 World Championship for Women. Eight national teams from across the Americas, composed of women aged 19 and under, competed in the tournament. The United States won their eighth consecutive gold in this event by beating Canada in the final, 109–62.
The 2017 FIBA U18 Women's European Championship was an international basketball competition that was held from 5 to 13 August 2017 in Hungary. It was the 34rd edition of the championship. 16 national teams from across Europe, composed of women aged 18 and under, competed in the tournament.
The 2018 FIBA U18 Women's Asian Championship was the qualifying tournament for FIBA Asia at the 2019 FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup. The tournament, which was also the 24th edition of the biennial competition, was held in Bangalore, India from 28 October to 3 November. The top four teams qualified and will represent FIBA Asia in the 2019 FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup in Thailand.
