The 2016 Fórmula 3 Brasil season is the tenth Fórmula 3 Brasil season and the second since 1995, replacing the Formula 3 Sudamericana series as the highest-profile single-seater championship on the continent.

  1. Due to adverse weather conditions, the second race at Santa Cruz do Sul was cancelled. The race was rescheduled for the meeting held at Cascavel to be the first race of a triple-header round.

The Autódromo José Carlos Pace, better known as Autódromo de Interlagos or simply Interlagos, is a 4.309 km (2.677 mi) motorsport circuit located in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. It was inaugurated on 12 May 1940, by the federal intervener of the São Paulo province, Adhemar de Barros. The traditional name of the circuit and of the neighborhood itself comes from the fact that it is located in a region between two large artificial lakes, Guarapiranga and Billings, which were built in the beginning of the 20th century to supply the city with water and electricity. In 1985, the circuit was renamed to honor the Formula 1 driver José Carlos Pace, who died in a plane crash in 1977. Attached to its facilities there is a kart circuit named after Ayrton Senna. The circuit runs counterclockwise.

Stock Car Pro Series, formerly known as Stock Car Brasil, is a touring car auto racing series based in Brazil organized by Vicar. It is considered the major Brazilian and South American motorsports series. Starting in 1979 with Chevrolet as the only constructor, the series has also seen other constructors joining in and leaving such as Mitsubishi, Peugeot and Volkswagen, currently the only other besides Chevrolet is Toyota. The series is composed of 12 rounds, with the most important race, the Corrida do Milhão being worth double points and has a prize pool of R$1 million. The competition has seen many internationally famous drivers in its ranks, such as Rubens Barrichello, Felipe Massa, Jacques Villeneuve, Lucas di Grassi, Nelson Piquet Jr., Ricardo Zonta, Tony Kanaan and António Félix da Costa.

Autódromo Internacional de Curitiba was a motorsports circuit located in Pinhais, Brazil. It has been host to the World Touring Car Championship, TC2000, Fórmula Truck and Stock Car Brasil racing. Until 2013 the circuit has also been host of the South American Formula 3 Series, namely the Formula 3 Sudamericana. The circuit also formerly hosted the Brazilian Formula Three Championship.

Flávio Pagano "Nonô" Figueiredo is a Brazilian auto racing driver. He is better known as "Nonô" Figueiredo and drives in the Brazilian V8 Stock Car Series. He started racing in Karting in 1984, winning several championship titles. In 1989 and 1990 he raced in some North American Formula Ford races. In 1993 he drove in the Italian formula 3 Championship, followed by Formula Fiat drives back in Brazil in 1995 and 1996, with six race wins in two years.

The Autódromo Internacional Zilmar Beux de Cascavel, commonly referred to as Autódromo de Cascavel, is an automobile racing complex located off Highway BR-277 in the city of Cascavel, Paraná, Brazil. The paved track is 3.058 km (1.900 mi) long. Opened in 1970, it hosts events for TCR South America, Stock Car Pro Series, NASCAR Brasil Sprint Race, Copa Truck and Fórmula Truck.

The 2012 Formula 3 Sudamericana season was the 26th Formula 3 Sudamericana season. It began on 22 July 2012, at Autódromo Internacional de Curitiba, and ended on 2 December on the same circuit.
