Fórmula 3 Brasil was a Brazilian Formula Three racing competition, organised by the Vicar and CBA. [1] It is a junior-level feeder formula that uses small single seater Formula Three chassis. The series was disputed from 1989 until 1995 and was revived in 2013, the series replacing Formula 3 Sudamericana in 2014. [1] It was folded again 2017.

The Autódromo José Carlos Pace, better known as Interlagos, is a 4.309 km (2.677 mi) motorsport circuit located in the city of São Paulo, in the neighborhood of Interlagos. It was inaugurated on 12 May 1940, by the federal intervener Adhemar de Barros. The traditional name of the circuit and of the neighborhood itself comes from the fact that it is located in a region between two large artificial lakes, Guarapiranga and Billings, which were built in the beginning of the 20th century to supply the city with water and electricity. In 1985 the circuit was renamed to honor the Formula 1 driver José Carlos Pace, who died in a plane crash in 1977. Attached to its facilities there is a Kart circuit named after Ayrton Senna. The circuit runs counterclockwise.

Mario Ermirio de Moraes Filho is a Brazilian professional race car driver. Moraes started his career in minor youth motorsports. In 2003 Moraes competed in American Formula Renault with World Speed Motorsports and won races against some competition such as Marco Andretti. In 2005 he drove for the Bassan Motorsport team in Formula Three Sudamericana and finished eighth. In 2006 he finished second in F3 Sudamericana, then moved to the British Formula Three National Class driving for Carlin Motorsport and earned several good finishes while not competing for series points. He finished in 14th place in the 2007 British Formula Three championship's Championship Class, again competing for Carlin.

Autódromo Internacional de Curitiba was a motorsports circuit located in Pinhais, Brazil. It has been host to the World Touring Car Championship, TC2000, Fórmula Truck and Stock Car Brasil racing. Until 2013 the circuit has also been host of the South American Formula 3 Series, namely the Formula 3 Sudamericana. The circuit also formerly hosted the Brazilian Formula Three Championship.

Fórmula 3 Sudamericana was a South American Formula Three championship. It was inaugurated in 1987 and primarily held races in Brazil and Argentina, with a small number of events held in other countries across the continent. Its most notable graduates include former Formula One drivers Nelson Piquet Jr., Ricardo Zonta and Christian Fittipaldi, four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Hélio Castroneves, and Champ Car champion and former F1 driver Cristiano da Matta. The series was replaced for 2014 by the Brazilian Formula Three Championship, which focuses on Brazilian circuits and drivers.

Hitech Pulse-Eight is a British motor racing team. It was founded in 2002 by Dennis Rushen and David Hayle. The team started racing in the British Formula 3 Championship in 2003. Autódromo Brasília BRB is a racing circuit in Brasília, the capital of Brazil. It is 5.476 km (3.403 mi) in length and hosts a variety of national-level series including Stock Car Brasil, Formula Truck and Formula 3 Brasil. The track was initially opened in 1974, and hosted non-championship rounds for both Formula One and the BPR Global GT Series, and in recent years was scheduled to host both MotoGP and IndyCar, but due to costs and construction delays, neither event went ahead. Previously named Autódromo Emilio Medici and Autódromo de Brasília, the circuit's name was later changed to honor Formula 1 World Champion Nelson Piquet. Following the transfer of ownership from Terracap to Banco de Brasília (BRB), the track is currently named Autódromo Brasília BRB.

The 2012 Formula 3 Sudamericana season was the 26th Formula 3 Sudamericana season. It began on 22 July 2012, at Autódromo Internacional de Curitiba, and ended on 2 December on the same circuit. After a year more complicated of the category, Formula 3 Sudamericana becomes organized by Vicar, the same of Stock Car Brasil and Brasileiro de Marcas.
