The 2016 Horizon League men's soccer tournament was the 29th edition of the tournament. It determined the Horizon League's automatic berth into the 2016 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship. UIC enter the tournament as the defending champions.
The 2016 final was a repeat of last year's final. The UIC Flames took on the Wright State Raiders in the championship, where the Flames, once again, came out on top. UIC's Oscar Rivero scored the game-winning goal off of a corner kick in the 85th minute to seal the fifth-ever title for the Flames. It was Wright State's third-consecutive trip to the Horizon League final, and third-consecutive defeat in the final. [1]
The semifinals and finals of the tournament was hosted by Wright State University and all matches were contested at Wright State Alumni Field.
The top four teams participate in the tournament. The seeding is based on the program's conference record during the 2016 Horizon League season.

The Horizon League is a collegiate athletic conference in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I. Headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, the league's eleven member schools are located in and near the Great Lakes region.
The UIC Flames are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent the University of Illinois Chicago, located in Chicago, Illinois, in intercollegiate sports as a member of the Division I level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), primarily competing in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) since the 2022–23 academic year. The Flames previously competed in the D-I Horizon League from 1994–95 to 2021–22; in the D-I Mid-Continent Conference from 1982–83 to 1993–94; as an NCAA D-I Independent during the 1981–82 school year; and in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) from 1949–50 to about 1980–81. Michael Lipitz joined UIC in October 2019 as the athletic director.
The 2008 Horizon League men's basketball tournament is scheduled at the end of the 2007–2008 regular season. The better seed will host each first round match. Butler hosted the second round and semifinals, because they were the top seed. The final was hosted by the better remaining seed.
The 2010–11 Butler Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Butler University in the 2010–11 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Their head coach was Brad Stevens, serving his 4th year. The Bulldogs played their home games at the Hinkle Fieldhouse, which has a capacity of approximately 10,000. They are members of the Horizon League.
The 2009–10 Cleveland State Vikings men's soccer team represented Cleveland State University in the 2010-11 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. The team was led by fifth-year head coach Ali Kazemaini and played their home games at Krenzler Field.
The 2013–14 Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's basketball team represented Oakland University during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Golden Grizzlies, led by 30th year head coach Greg Kampe, played their home games at the Athletics Center O'rena and were first-year members of the Horizon League.
The 2013–14 Cleveland State Vikings men's basketball team represented Cleveland State University in the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Their head coach was Gary Waters. The Vikings played their home games at the Wolstein Center and were members of the Horizon League. It was the 83rd season of Cleveland State basketball. They finished the season 21–12, 12–4 in Horizon League play to finish in second place. They lost in the semifinals of the Horizon League tournament to Wright State. They were invited to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they lost in the first round to Ohio.
The 2014–15 Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's basketball team represented Oakland University during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Golden Grizzlies, led by 31st year head coach Greg Kampe, played their home games at the Athletics Center O'rena. This was Oakland's second season in the Horizon League. They finished the season 16–17, 11–5 in Horizon League play to finish in a tie for third place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the Horizon League tournament to UIC. They were invited to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they lost in the first round to Eastern Illinois.

The Golden Grizzlies were led by 32nd year head coach Greg Kampe and played their home games at the Athletics Center O'rena. They finished the season 23–12, 13–5 in Horizon League play to finish in a tie for second place. They lost in the semifinals of the Horizon League tournament to Wright State. They were invited to the inaugural Vegas 16 where they defeated Towson and East Tennessee State to advance to the championship game where they lost to Old Dominion.
The 2015–16 Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team represented the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay in the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Their head coach in his first year was Linc Darner. The Phoenix played their home games at the Resch Center and were members of the Horizon League. They finished the season 23–13, 11–7 in Horizon League play to finish in fourth place. They defeated Cleveland State, Milwaukee, Valparaiso, and Wright State to become champions of the Horizon League tournament. They received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where they lost in the first round to Texas A&M.
The 2016–17 Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team represented the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay in the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Phoenix, led by second-year head coach Linc Darner, played their home games at the Resch Center as members of the Horizon League. They finished the season 18–14, 12–6 in Horizon League play to finish in a tie for third place. In the Horizon League tournament, they lost to UIC in the quarterfinals. They received an invitation to the College Basketball Invitational where they lost in the first round to UMKC.
The 2017 Horizon League women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Horizon League. It was held from October 30 through November 4, 2017. The quarterfinals of the tournament were held at campus sites, while semifinals and final took place at Engelmann Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The six team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Northern Kentucky Norse were the defending champions, but they were eliminated from the 2017 tournament with a 3–2 loss to the IUPUI Jaguars in the semifinals. IUPUI won the tournament by virtue of winning the penalty shoot-out tiebreaking procedure following a tie with the Milwaukee Panthers in the final.

The tournament determined the year's Horizon League men's college soccer champion, as well as the conference's automatic berth in the 2017 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament, which determines the national champion of college soccer for the season.

The quarterfinals of the tournament were held at campus sites, while semifinals and final took place at Engelmann Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The six team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The IUPUI Jaguars were the defending champions, but they did not qualify for the 2018 tournament after finishing the regular season in seventh place. The Milwaukee Panthers won the tournament by beating the Cleveland State Vikings 1–0 in the final.

The quarterfinals of the tournament were held at campus sites, while semifinals and final took place at Engelmann Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The six team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Milwaukee Panthers were the defending champions, and they successfully defended their title by beating the UIC Flames 2–0 in the final. This was the twelfth overall title for Milwaukee and second for head coach Troy Fabiano.

The 2021 Horizon League men's soccer tournament was the postseason men's soccer tournament for the Horizon League. It was held from November 7 through November 13, 2021. The quarterfinals of the tournament were held at campus sites, while semifinals and final took place at Oakland Soccer Field in Rochester, Michigan. The six team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Milwaukee Panthers were the defending champions. They were unable to defend their crown, falling to Cleveland State in the Semifinals. Oakland finished as tournament champions after defeating Cleveland State 3–1 in the Final. This was the third overall title for Oakland, all of which have come under head coach Eric Pogue. As tournament champions, Oakland earned the Horizon League's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament.
The 2022–23 Horizon League men's basketball season began with practices in September 2022 and ended with the 2023 Horizon League men's basketball tournament in March 2023. This wase the 43rd season for Horizon League men's basketball. This was the first season in conference history with 11 teams, as UIC departed for the Missouri Valley Conference following the 2021-22 season.
