Ysaline Bonaventure and Demi Schuurs were the defending champions, but Bonaventure chose not to participate this year. Schuurs played alongside Oksana Kalashnikova, but lost in the quarterfinals to Valentyna Ivakhnenko and Marina Melnikova.

Eri Hozumi and Makoto Ninomiya defeated Tereza Martincová and Markéta Vondroušová in the final, 1–6, 7–6(7–4), [10–7], to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2022 Adelaide International 2 and their first title together as a duo. Hozumi and Ninomiya saved a match point in the final.
Kaitlyn Christian and Sabrina Santamaria were the defending champions, but chose not to participate together. Christian signed up with Lidziya Marozava, but they withdrew before the start of the tournament because they were still playing at the Madrid Open. Santamaria played alongside Miyu Kato but lost in the quarterfinals to Julia Lohoff and Renata Voráčová.
