The Murray River Open was a new addition to the ATP Tour in 2021.
Defending champion Nikola Mektić and his partner, Mate Pavić, defeated Dan Evans and Neal Skupski in the final, 6–3, 4–6, [10–7], to win the doubles tennis title at the 2021 Monte-Carlo Masters. It was the all-Croatian duo's second consecutive ATP Tour Masters 1000 title together and their fifth title overall of the year. The win also earned Mektić his first successful career title defense. The match was the second successive encounter between both teams in consecutive Masters 1000 finals.
Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut defeated Reilly Opelka and John Peers in the final, 6–4, 7–5, to win the doubles tennis title at the 2021 Queen's Club Championships. It was the duo's third title at the tournament. Opelka and Peers were contesting as a new pairing in their first final.

Isner completed the Sunshine Double, having previously won the title at Indian Wells alongside Jack Sock. He became the first player to do so in men's doubles since Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut in 2016.
