The 2016 WAC men's soccer tournament, was the 9th edition of the tournament. It determined the Western Athletic Conference's automatic berth into the 2016 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship.

Contents

UNLV won the WAC title, making it their second WAC championship. The Rebels defeated Air Force in the championship, 2–1.

Seeding

The top six programs qualified for the WAC Tournament. Grand Canyon and Incarnate Word were ineligible for the tournament due to their transition from Division II to Division I soccer. [2] [3] [4] Grand Canyon finished fifth in the regular season table, allowing seventh-place, Cal State Bakersfield to qualify.

On November 12, 2021, Incarnate Word accepted their invitation to join the Western Athletic Conference in 2022. However, on June 24, 2022, just one week before the change of conferences was scheduled to take place, Incarnate Word announced that it would remain in the Southland Conference.

The Grand Canyon Antelopes are the 21 athletic teams representing Grand Canyon University, located in Phoenix, Arizona. Most of the university's athletic teams compete at the NCAA Division I level in the Western Athletic Conference. Men's volleyball competes in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) effective beginning in the 2017–18 academic year. The beach volleyball program competes as an independent.

The 2013 NCAA Division I men's soccer season was the 55th season of NCAA championship men's college soccer. There were 203 teams in men's Division I competition. The defending champions were the Indiana Hoosiers who defeated the Georgetown Hoyas in the 2012 College Cup. The season concluded with Notre Dame defeating Maryland 2–1 to win its first NCAA soccer title.

As of 2020 they are led by head coach Bryce Drew and play their home games at the GCU Arena. They made the jump to NCAA Division I and joined the WAC on July 1, 2013.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2018 Western Athletic Conference men's soccer season</span> Sports season

The 2018 Western Athletic Conference men's soccer season is the 23rd consecutive competition of men's college soccer in the Western Athletic Conference under the 2018 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. The season will feature twelve teams, where five are affiliate members of the conference. Air Force, San Jose State, and UNLV will compete from the Mountain West Conference, while Houston Baptist and Incarnate Word come from the Southland Conference. Colleges in the WAC will begin competition on August 24, 2018, and conclude on November 9, 2018 after the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship. Prior to the NCAA Division I Tournament Championship, there will be a postseason conference tournament held in Seattle, Washington at the Championship Field, where the winner is guaranteed to represent the WAC in the NCAA Division I Tournament. The California Baptist Lancers are ineligible for postseason as they are in transition to the NCAA Division I level. Chicago State and New Mexico State have defunct programs in this season.

The 2018 WAC men's soccer tournament was the 11th edition of the tournament. It determined the Western Athletic Conference's automatic berth into the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship.

They finished the season 17–7, 9–3 in WAC Play to finish a tie for the regular season championship. They defeated Seattle and New Mexico State to win the WAC tournament. They received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where they lost in the first round to Iowa.
