The 2016–17 BLNO is the 17th season of the Basketball League of Norway since its establishment.

BLNO is Norway's premier professional men's basketball league. It was established in 2000.

Centrum Tigers won its second league after beating Gimle in the single-game final.

Centrum Tigers is a professional basketball club based in Oslo, Norway. The team currently plays in the second tier of Norwegian basketball following their relegation from the top BLNO league in 2018 after winning back-to-back titles.

Format

The ten participating teams first played the regular season, that consisted in a round-robin schedule containing three rounds with every team playing each opponent at least once home and once away for a total of 27 matches.

At the end of the regular season, the top eight teams qualified for the playoffs. Quarterfinals and semifinals were played with a best-of-three format and the final is played as a single game. [1]

Teams better qualified in the regular season played games 2 and 3, if necessary, at home. Only in the semifinal between Kongsberg Miners and Centrum Tigers, the format of 1–1–1 was used.

The 2017–18 Lietuvos krepšinio lyga, also called Betsafe-LKL for sponsorship reasons, is the 25th season of the top-tier level professional basketball league of Lithuania, the Lietuvos krepšinio lyga (LKL). The season started in September 2017, and the last game of final series was played in 18 June 2018.

The 2017–18 BLNO was the 18th season of the Basketball League of Norway since its establishment. It started on 22 September 2017 and ended on 11 April 2018 with the third and last game of the finals.
