The 2017 Copa CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina was the ninth edition of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina (also referred to as the Copa Libertadores Femenina), South America's premier women's club football tournament organized by CONMEBOL. The tournament was hosted in Paraguay from 7 to 21 October 2017. [1] [2]
Sportivo Limpeño, the defending champions, were eliminated in the group stage. [3]
The competition was contested by 12 teams: the champions of all ten CONMEBOL associations were given one entry, additionally the title holders re-enter and the host association qualifies one more team. The qualifying competitions of each association usually end late in the year (September to December).
Each team submitted a squad of at most 20 players. [20]
Matches were played in Gran Asunción. The stadiums were: [21]
Venues of matches originally scheduled for 8, 10 and 18 October were changed. [22] [23]
The draw was held on 18 September 2017, 12:00 PYT (UTC−4), at the headquarters of the Paraguayan Football Association. [24] [25] [26] The 12 teams were drawn into three groups of four. The three host teams were seeded into Pot 1, while the remaining teams were seeded based on the results of their association in the 2016 Copa Libertadores Femenina. [27]

On 9 October 2017, none of the scheduled Group C matches were played as players from several teams showed symptoms for food poisoning. [28] CONMEBOL later announced the competition would be paused for three full days, to be resumed on 12 October 2017 with a modified schedule with four matches played on that day. [29] The group stage was also extended from 15 to 17 October, while the semi-finals were rescheduled from 18 to 19 October. [30] The Group B match between Colón and Universitario were further postponed from 13 to 15 October because some players had not yet recovered from food poisoning. [31]

The Campeonato Anual FEM is the top-level league competition for women's football in Paraguay. The winner and runner-up qualify for the Copa Libertadores Femenina, the South American Women's Champions League. The competition is organised by the Paraguayan Football Association.
The 2014 Copa Libertadores Femenina was the sixth edition of the Copa Libertadores Femenina, South America's premier women's international club football tournament organized by CONMEBOL. The tournament was held in the city of São José dos Campos, in the São Paulo state of Brazil, from 5 to 16 November 2014.
The 2015 Copa Libertadores Femenina was the 7th edition of the Copa Libertadores Femenina, South America's premier women's club football tournament organized by CONMEBOL. The tournament was held in Colombia, from 28 October to 8 November 2015. It was the first time the tournament was hosted outside Brazil.
The 2016 Copa Libertadores Femenina was the eighth edition of the Copa Libertadores Femenina, South America's premier women's club football tournament organized by CONMEBOL. The tournament was played in Uruguay from 6 to 20 December 2016.

The 2018 Copa Sudamericana second stage was played from 17 July to 16 August 2018. A total of 32 teams competed in the second stage to decide the 16 places in the final stages of the 2018 Copa Sudamericana.
The 2019 Copa CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina was the 11th edition of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina, South America's premier women's club football tournament organized by CONMEBOL. The tournament was held in Quito, Ecuador from 11 to 28 October 2019.
The 2019 South American Under-15 Football Championship was the 9th edition of the South American Under-15 Football Championship, the biennial international youth football championship organised by the CONMEBOL for the men's under-15 national teams of South America. The tournament was originally to be held in Bolivia between 23 November and 8 December 2019. However, on 8 November 2019, CONMEBOL announced the tournament would be moved to Paraguay due to the 2019 Bolivian protests.
The 2020 Copa Sudamericana first stage was played from 4 to 27 February 2020. A total of 44 teams competed in the first stage to decide 22 of the 32 places in the second stage of the 2020 Copa Sudamericana.
The 2020 Copa Libertadores qualifying stages were played from 21 January to 27 February 2020. A total of 19 teams competed in the qualifying stages to decide four of the 32 places in the group stage of the 2020 Copa Libertadores.
The 2020 U-20 Copa CONMEBOL Libertadores was the 5th edition of the U-20 CONMEBOL Libertadores, South America's premier under-20 club football tournament organized by CONMEBOL. The tournament was held in Paraguay from 15 February to 1 March 2020. Nacional were the defending champions, but failed to advance out of the group stage.

Although the competition was originally scheduled to be held in Uruguay from 3 to 19 October 2024, on 29 August 2024, CONMEBOL announced that the competition would be moved to Paraguay.
