The 2017 Match des Champions (English: 2017 Champions Game) was the 12th edition of the Match des Champions. The game was played between Élan Chalon, the winner of the 2016–17 Pro A season, and Nanterre 92, the winner of the 2016–17 French Cup.

The Match des Champions, or French Basketball Supercup is a yearly held basketball professional super cup game, in France. It is contested by the champions of the top-tier level league in France, the LNB Pro A, and the French Federation Cup winner. The game was introduced in 2005.

Élan Chalon French basketball club

Élan Sportif Chalonnais, commonly known as Élan Chalon, is a French professional basketball club that is based in Chalon-sur-Saône, France. The team's main colors are red and white, and their mascot is a moose. They play their national domestic league games in the LNB Pro A league and internationally in the Basketball Champions League. The team's home arena is called Le Colisée, which seats 5,000 spectators.

The 2016–17 Pro A season was the 95th season of the Pro A, the top basketball league in France organised by the Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNB). The season started on 24 September 2016 and ended on 24 June 2017.

Nanterre 92 won the game 95–69 over Élan Chalon and won its second title in club history. [1]
