The 2018 FIBA European Championship for Small Countries was the 16th edition of this tournament. It was hosted by San Marino. [1]
Seven teams played in the competition, with the return of Norway, 17 years after their last appearance in a FIBA competition.
Armenia, that participates in the EuroBasket 2021 qualification, and Wales, integrated in the team of Great Britain, were the teams from the previous edition that did not participate in this one.

The FIBA U18 EuroBasket is the new name for the FIBA U18 European Championship, originally known as the FIBA European Championship for Juniors. It's a men's youth basketball competition that was inaugurated with the 1964 edition. It was held biennially through the 2002 edition. From the 2004 edition onward, it has been held every year. It serves as the qualification tournament for the FIBA Under-19 World Cup, for the FIBA Europe region. The current champions are Serbia.
EuroBasket 2017 was the 40th edition of the EuroBasket championship that was organized by FIBA Europe and held between 31 August and 17 September 2017. Beginning from 2017, the continental championships take place every four years with a similar system of qualification as for the FIBA Basketball World Cup.
The 2014 FIBA European Championship for Small Countries was the 14th edition of the tournament, formerly known as the Promotion Cup or the FIBA EuroBasket Division C. It was played in the Tercentenary Sports Centre, Gibraltar, from 7 to 12 July 2014.
The 2016 FIBA European Championship for Small Countries was the 15th edition of this tournament. It was hosted by Moldova.
The 2016 FIBA Europe 3x3 Championships was the second edition of the European 3x3 basketball event that featured separate competitions for men's and women's national teams. The tournament started on 25 June 2016 with the first of the three qualifying tournaments and its final tournament was played in the AFI Cotroceni shopping mall in Bucharest, Romania between 2 and 4 September 2016.
The 2017 FIBA U16 European Championship was the 31st edition of the Under-16 European Basketball Championship. The tournament was held in Podgorica, Montenegro, from 11 to 19 August 2017. Sixteen (16) teams participated, including 2016 Division B top three finishers.

It was played in Tirana, Albania, from 14 to 21 July 2019. Nine teams participated in the competition. Luxembourg men's national under-16 basketball team won the tournament.
The 2019 FIBA U20 Women's European Championship was the 15th edition of the Women's European basketball championship Division B for national under-20 teams. Held from 3 to 11 August in Pristina, Kosovo, 12 teams participated in the tournament.
The 2021 FIBA European Championship for Small Countries was the 17th edition of this tournament, hosted in Dublin, Ireland. Initially, the championship was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was rescheduled to 10–15 August 2021.

The 2021 FIBA U16 Women's European Challengers were international basketball competitions which took place from 9 to 16 August 2021, replacing the cancelled 2021 FIBA U16 Women's European Championship. Top two teams from groups A, B and C qualified for the 2022 FIBA Under-17 Women's Basketball World Cup.
The 2022 FIBA U18 Women's European Championship was the 37th edition of the Women's European basketball championship for national under-18 teams. It was played from 6 to 14 August 2022 in Heraklion, Greece. Lithuania women's national under-18 basketball team won the tournament and became the European champions for the second time.
