Laura Ricciardi is an American filmmaker. Ricciardi is best known for the documentary television series Making a Murderer (Netflix), which she co-created with filmmaker Moira Demos. Along with Demos, Ricciardi served as Executive Producer, Writer and Director of all 20 episodes of Making a Murderer, Seasons 1 & 2. At the 68th Annual Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards in 2016, Making a Murderer Season 1 received six nominations and won four Emmy Awards. Of the six nominations the series received, Ricciardi was nominated for three, and won three, for Outstanding Documentary Or Nonfiction Series, Outstanding Writing For A Nonfiction Program, and Outstanding Directing For A Nonfiction Program.
