The 2018 VAFA season was the 118th season of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA), the largest senior community Australian rules football competition in Victoria. A total of 70 teams participated across seven divisions under a promotion and relegation system.
Prior to the start of the season, Point Cook and Old Eltham Collegians left the VAFA to join the Western Football Netball League and Northern Football Netball League respectively.
Brunswick NOBSPC, which had most recently been renamed from NOBs/St Pat's in 2015, changed its name to Brunswick Football Club in October 2017. [1] [2]

St Kevin's Old Boys won their second Premier Division premiership in a row, defeating Collegians by 5 points in the Grand Final. [4]
Four members of the St Kevin's premiership side − Lachie Sullivan, Ned Reeves, Tom Jok and Ethan Phillips − have since gone on to play in the Australian Football League (AFL). [5] [6]
Old Scotch and St Bedes/Mentone Tigers were relegated.

The Fitzroy Football Club is an Australian rules football club currently competing in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA). Formed in 1883 to represent the inner-Melbourne municipality of Fitzroy, the club was a member of the Victorian Football Association (VFA), before becoming a foundation member of the breakaway Victorian Football League (VFL/AFL) in 1897.
The 1897 VFL season was the inaugural season of the Victorian Football League (VFL), the highest-level senior Australian rules football competition in Victoria. The season ran from 8 May to 4 September, comprising a 14-round home-and-away season followed by a three-week finals series featuring the top four clubs. Eight Victorian Football Association (VFA) clubs – Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon, Fitzroy, Geelong, Melbourne, South Melbourne and St Kilda – featured in the inaugural season after seceding from the VFA in 1896.

The Eastern Football Netball League is an Australian rules football league, based in the eastern suburbs of metropolitan Melbourne.
The Northern Football Netball League is an Australian sports league based in the Diamond Valley region of suburban Melbourne, Victoria. The league regulates competitions of both sports, Australian rules football and netball in the region.
The Old Geelong Sporting Club is an amateur men's and women's sports club based at Como Park, South Yarra, Victoria. The team competes in the "Premier B" Division of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA). The club has associations with the two Geelong-based APS schools Geelong Grammar School and The Geelong College and draws many of its players from these two schools. The Club also has a strong link with many regional areas of Victoria, and attracts players from across the country. The OGs have won six Senior premierships, nine Reserves premierships, two Under 19’s premierships, two Club XXVIII premierships & one Women’s Reserves premiership in their history.

The Division 2 premiership was won by Brunswick; it was the club's third Division 2 premiership, and the last premiership in either division ever won by the club.
